But I decode.c:38:18: fatal error: dnet.h: no such file or directory found a command `-with-mysql-libraries=DIR' which specifies the location for mysql client library. So I executed the command locate libmysqlclient I got the following result root@techinterplay [~/techin/snort-2.8.4.1]# locate libmysqlclient /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient.so /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient.so.15 /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient.so.15.0.0 /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient_r.so /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient_r.so.15 /usr/lib64/libmysqlclient_r.so.15.0.0 /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.a /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.la /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.so /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.a /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.la /usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so /usr/local/cpanel/lib64/libmysqlclient.so.14 So libmysqlclient library is located inside the directory /usr/lib64/mysql/.
