(Error 3183) You tried to perform an operation that requires more space than is available on the temporary disk. Your temporary disk location is based on the TEMP DOS environment variable, which was set when your system started. For example, you access 2013 not enough space on disk may be trying to create a query that creates temporary files larger than the temporary disk. Reduce the size of the temporary files by accessing smaller amounts of data at one time or increase the size of the temporary disk. You can increase the amount of available temporary disk space in several ways: Select fewer records. Dynaset-type, forward-only — type, and snapshot-type Recordset objects record keys and data to the temporary disk. Select a different drive for your temporary disk. If the temporary disk is a RAM disk, increase the amount of available RAM and the space allocated to the RAM disk, or move it to a fixed disk. Free some space by deleting data or by removing unneeded tables, queries, forms, macros, and modules from your database. Free some space by compressing deleted records out of your database. If you still need additional space, consider removing other unused files from your disk. Each model run, data is loaded into the model from a Microsoft Access 2010 database using an SQL query and the Jet Database Engine 4.0. The connection between the software and the database is made with ODBC. I need to not enough space run the model for thousands of locations, but after tens of model runs I get the error: “[ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Not enough space on temporary disk”. After restarting the model, the computation runs ok for the same query and data set, but I quickly get the error again. The amount of data that is loaded differs per model run, with a maximum of ~30.000 records. When loading in only small datasets of max. 1000 records, the error does not occur. The following did not work: increasing the MaxLocksPerFile in the windows registry increasing the MaxBufferSize Compacting and repairing the .mdb file there is enough space on my temporary disk Interestingly, I did not have any problems with the same model on my old system (32-bit Windows XP). Only on this computer (64-bit Windows 7, 16 Gb RAM) the error occurs. The modelling software is 32-bit, and the ODBC connection is set with odbcad32.exe in “c:\Windows\SysWOW64\” directory. It seems there is a memory leak in the Windows7 version, as the same model and data works fine on an older Windows XP computer with less memory. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! odbc share|improve this question asked Mar 13 '14 at 14:48 JohanB 814 - any luck with the solution i gave you ? –Up_One Mar 13 '14 at 15:30 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 acti

I am always getting the following error:"Not enough space on temporary disk" My C drive and has like 30GB free. My temp folder reaches 1.95GB when I run this query (before that it is like 50mb). So I am thinking is it because of the Access 2GB limit (Access 2000) or is it because of some size restriction on the temp folder ? Someone please help. thanks in advance. Is it split? Have you Compact and Repaired it. If it is split you'll have to C&R the be db manually. If you have A2003 SP3 have you applied the "hotfix". http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945674 WIS View Public Profile Find More Posts by WIS 05-29-2009, 04:03 PM #3 goyal Registered User Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Re: "Not enough space on temporary disk" error What do u mean by split ?
