This error shows up because you need Windows Games Explorer, some dont have but I found a solution for this. This is not a RAM or hard disk storage or fragmentation problem. You dont need to download or install Windows Games Explorer.Go here http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?gameuxand click 'download zip-file'After downloading it, extract gameux.dll into C:\Windows\System32 and try launching the gameIf that doesnt work, extract it to C:\Windows\SysWOW64That solved my problem.Good luck.*if you cant see the System32 folder it's probably hidden. go to Control Panel > Folder Options > click on the View tab and search for the option to Show hidden files, folders and drives. There's around 100 gb currently free, so this is in reality untrue and I am going to guess a bug with the game. Yes, there are other posts about this but reinstalling the game does not work nor does verifying the game cache. Does anybody else have a verifiable fix for this problem? < > Showing 1-15 of 16 comments Plaid View Profile View Posts 4 Jan, 2013 @ 4:30am why did you make a new topic for this? #1 PRL | Oscar Wilde View Profile View Posts 4 Jan, 2013 @ 2:07pm Is your HDD separated into partitions? Or are you, perhaps, running your OS off an SSD?I have both of these and occasionally something will default to installing on my SSD... which has no room for giant games on it! I'm assuming you probably aren't but it doesn't hurt to check the basics first! #2 Boreas斬奪!!! I've researched it and I'm not the only one. It seems like people say that it's a memory issue, but with no other programs running I still get this error. My computer exceeds the JC2 minimum requirements; should play it no problem. One thing to take note of is that I have 3 hard drives: one 96GB SSD and two 500GB. Steam is installed on one of the 500GB alternate hard drives. It wasn't a problem with my hard drive space. It wasn't a problem with my RAM. No wonder not many people complain about this error... Basically the message is misleading. I have a copy of Windows 7 that I slipstreamed several components out of, to make it lighter. It turns out that I removed a component that is crucial to Just Cause 2: Windows Games Explorer. Who knows why the hell JC2 needs this thing. After rooting around for a long time - Turn Windows Features On/Off doesn't work when you've completely removed the functionality of something from the windows install - I found an installer for Windows Games Explorer. If anyone is interested, here's the link to the forum that I found it at. http://www.win2008workstation.com/fo...php?f=25&t=927 This is a hilarious game. Hooking cars to the ground with indestructible grappling hook is awesome. Chaosed0 View Public Profile Search User Find More Posts by Chaosed0 Find Threads by
