(Error 3183) You tried to error [hy001] [microsoft][odbc microsoft access driver] not enough space on temporary disk. perform an operation that requires more space than is available on the temporary disk. Your temporary disk location is based on the TEMP DOS environment variable, which was set when your system started. For example, you may be trying to create a query that creates temporary files larger than the temporary disk. Reduce the size of the temporary files by accessing smaller amounts of data at one time or increase the size of the temporary disk. You can increase the amount of available temporary disk space in several ways: Select fewer records. Dynaset-type, forward-only — type, and snapshot-type Recordset objects record keys and data to the temporary disk. Select a different drive for your temporary disk. If the temporary disk is a RAM disk, increase the amount of available RAM and the space allocated to the RAM disk, or move it to a fixed disk. Categories Hosting (46) Misc (3) Software (1) WebEasy (1) Why do I get 'Not enough access 2013 not enough space on disk space on temporary disk' errors? This error occurs when the MS Access query runs out of temporary memory. An example of the error odbc microsoft access driver not enough space on disk message is shown below: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '8007000e' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Not enough space on temporary disk. /yourscript.asp, line 33 This error message indicates that the scripts has run into problems due https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb223982(v=office.12).aspx to a lack of temporary disk space. This does not indicate that the server has run out of space but that Access cannot cope with any more temporary files or a temporary file that is any larger. The most common and simplest to cure cause is that writable record sets are being opened where they are not necessary. You should try to minimize the number of JET*.tmp files you need to create. For example, when opening the https://my.slightlydifferent.co.nz/knowledgebase/38/Why-do-I-get-Not-enough-space-on-temporary-disk-errors.html database solely to retrieve data (no UPDATE, INSERT or DELETE), do so in adModeRead mode. This way, Access will use the least amount of temporary files, since it doesn't need to prepare room or logic for changing existing data. Here is an example of opening an Access database in adModeRead mode: <% set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.mode = 1 ' adModeRead conn.open "

Solved Not enough space on temporary disk in Access 2003 Posted on 2014-02-04 MS Access 3 Verified not enough Solutions 16 Comments 1,338 Views Last Modified: 2014-02-11 I'm trying to run a simple query on four linked tables and keep getting the message "Not enough space on temporary disk". Each table has between 52,000 - 55,000 records. The files are in a Citrix environment, and the server on which they are located has plenty of space and memory to handle this project. I not enough space copied the files to my PC and get the same error message. My PC has plenty of free space so I don't think the error has anything to do with lack of space or memory. I compacted the files but that did not solve it. I can open each linked table without a problem. The fields on which I'm joining have been indexed. The data files are confidential so am not able to post them. Any suggestions on what I should try next would be appreciated. 0 Question by:Liberty4all Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Active 2 days ago Best Solution byLiberty4all Jim, I don't know if Access 2003 is running on a 64 bit multi-core system, but the good news is I found the solution.
