Not enough memory to complete transaction. Close some applications and retry. These error messages on a computer, which we will call computer A, can indicate the IRPStackSize bug on the other machine, the server that has the share, which we will call computer B. Go to that other computer, B, open the event log, and check for event ID 2011. If this is present, it is a strong indication for this particular bug. The two computers again: The computer trying to access a share on the other computer over the network, displays the error message, "Not enough ". Let's call this one the client. The server where the share is, needs to hav

Anyone know the answer? Here is information on the error from MVP Hans-Georg Michna: This error indicates that you are falling foul of the IRPStackSize bug. The http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/16737-43-server-storage-error-mapping-drive problem is on the machine you are attempting to connect to, not the machine where you see the error message. On the computer you are attempting to connect to, check the event viewer for an event ID 2011. Usual fix : You need to fix a parameter called IRPStackSize On the computer you are attempting to connect to, Set the IRPStackSize back to the default (15 ). Perform the following steps: 1. Start regedit. 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters. 3. Double-click IRPStackSize (or if this registry setting doesn't exist, create it with type DWORD and ensure the case is correct). 4. Change the base to decimal, set the value to 15, and click OK. 5. Reboot the computer. Norton AV is usual suspect for breaking it. There's a KB article about this, too: Antivirus Software May Cause Event ID 2011 (Q177078) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;177078 Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" a Windows XP peer-to-peer network connection. It took several seconds before the computer responded with a message stating the Network share was not accessible and the message "not enough server storage is available to process this command." It turns out http://www.pchell.com/support/notenoughserverstorage.shtml this problem was on the newly formatted computer and it was a registry issue. Follow the steps below to open the registry on the computer you cannot connect to and check for possible missing registry key. Follow these steps http://www.ghacks.net/2008/01/13/not-enough-server-storage-is-available-to-process-this-command/ to check for problems on the machine you cannot access. 1) Open the registry editor on the machine you cannot connect to by clicking on Start, Run 2) Type REGEDIT and press Enter 3) Click on the plus signs not enough (+) next to the following entries HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services Lanmanserver Parameters 4) In the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor look for a key called IRPStackSize 5) If the key exists, double-click on it and increase the decimal value to 15 and click OK. Close the Registry Editor, reboot the computer and try to connect to the network share. If you are still unable to connect follow the above steps again and increase the decimal number for IRPStackSize storage is available by 5 and try again. Continue to do this until the stack size is large enough to permit access. Personally, I had to increase the number to 25 before I could connect. The decimal range for the parameter is between 11 and 50. 6) If the IRPStackSize key DOES NOT exist in the right-hand column of the registry editor, then click on right-click in the blank area in the right-hand column and choose New 7) Then Click on D-Word under the Key column 8) In the Name of the new key, type the name IRPStackSize and press Enter. Type the name with the correct capitalization as shown above. 9) Now double-click on the IRPStackSize key and type 15 in the value data box and place a dot next to Decimal then click Ok. 10) Close the registry editor and reboot the computer. Try to access the network share again. If the same error appears follow the steps above to increase the value and reboot again. Continue this procedure until the problem is resolved. The decimal range for the parameter is between 11 and 50. By Martin Brinkmann on January 13, 2008 in Windows - Last Update:January 7, 2013 78Not enough server storage is available to process this command is a message that you may receive when you try to access a shared resource on a network. The Event ID: 2011 may also be written referring to the configuration parameter IRPStackSize. If the IRPStackSize is not present in the Registry the default value which may not be large enough for the server service to administer shared folders on some of the physical drives. To solve this problem open the Registry by pressing Windows and R on the keyboard at the same time. This opens a run box on the system that you can use to load programs. Type in regedit and tap on the enter key afterwards to start the Windows Registry editor. Note that you may receive an UAC prompt which you need to accept before it opens up.Use the folder structure on the left of the window to navigate to the following key in the Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ lanmanserver \ parameters. Check on the right side of the screen if the parameter IRPStackSize exists. If you can't find the parameter but receive the error message then you should create it to fix the issue. To do so right-click on Parameters and select New > Dword from the context menu. Name the entry IRPStackSize. It should appear on the right once you have done that. Double-click the entry to change its value. The default value for it is 18 and you should raise it to 21 if you get the not enough server storage error.Reboot your computer afterwards and see if the issue has been resolved. If that did not do it, increase the value of the parameter by 3 again and repeat that until your issue has been fixed or you'd reach a value larger than 50. That's the maximum size of the parameter. I've a few questions about this topic.1. Which versions of Windows does these particular values apply to? I've seen this many, many times on several of my Windows 2003 servers.2.
