But on some networks the admins allow you to have x mbs/gbs of storage on the network. If you go beyond that, no matter how much space is left on the network, you will not be allowed to save your work there. Contact your network admins to see if this is the case, there should not be a problem from an Access point of view. __________________ ruoY yppah namliaM si syawla yppah ot pleh To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Not Enough Temporary Storage Space Access
when the MS Access query runs out of temporary memory. An example of the error message is shown below: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '8007000e' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Not enough http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=146590 space on temporary disk. /yourscript.asp, line 33 This error message indicates that the scripts has run into problems due to a lack of temporary disk space. This does not indicate that the server has run out of space but that Access cannot cope with any more temporary files or a temporary file that is any larger. The most common and simplest to cure cause is that https://my.slightlydifferent.co.nz/knowledgebase/38/Why-do-I-get-Not-enough-space-on-temporary-disk-errors.html writable record sets are being opened where they are not necessary. You should try to minimize the number of JET*.tmp files you need to create. For example, when opening the database solely to retrieve data (no UPDATE, INSERT or DELETE), do so in adModeRead mode. This way, Access will use the least amount of temporary files, since it doesn't need to prepare room or logic for changing existing data. Here is an example of opening an Access database in adModeRead mode: <% set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.mode = 1 ' adModeRead conn.open "
started by nmusanov, Nov 30, 2003. nmusanov Guppy Hello, I have trouble with a ms access database. it says Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005' Not enough space on disk. The error code is not the same in various situations but the message http://support.jodohost.com/threads/msaccess-and-not-enough-space-on-disk.691/ about disk space is always there. Support (and H-SPHERE) says there is enaugh space and that they are system administrators and that it is a programming error. Needles to say I did not change the code in a while. They also sent me a list of possible clues from MSDN, all of which refer to system configuration, except DSN, which I don't use (connection string is in the code) "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Application("pathvar") & "\dir\file.mdb" I tried hardcoding (pathvar) it but not enough it didn't help. most of msdn clues refer to the fact that the database file is locked. I tried restarting the application by saving global.asa, stopping and starting the web service in control panel etc., but it did not help. Please help. They all use db for users. I deleted the cookie and now I can't acces any page because they all rely on db for user management. nmusanov, Dec 1, 2003 #5 nmusanov Guppy I changed domain nameservers to *.jodoshared.com and now the site (www.skretnica.com) works from new w2003 servers. So it is obvious that it 'HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SERVER' after all!!! I'm disappointed, the site was down for 2 weeks. nmusanov, Dec 17, 2003 #6 binobose Guest I too face the same unexplicable, irritating error. But i found that the folder where our db is residing has to be given permission on IWAM_USER,IWAM_USER...just check my site www.codepal.co.nr having same error in Forums section binobose, Oct 25, 2007 #7 antic Perch You may find that it is a folder permissions problem.
