Not Enough System Resources To Display Completely Excel 2010 Hotfix

When a user is opening a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2779852 second Excel sheet the following error message appears: 'Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications.' The files are saved on a network drive and I am able to open them fine on my PC which is the exact same spec and setup. I have deleted the files in C:\users\username\appdata\microsoft\excel and rebooted the PC but the error still appears.
