I've read the FAQ and Setup but they don't seem to help. I tried both copying the DLL http://www.bigresource.com/ASP-AspSmartUpload-Error-qaj7Bbwf.html to system32 and I also tried modifying the PATH with the instructions they give, but I still get the error. I know it gets annoying to have people say it, but this is urgent--any help is VERY VERY appreciated. Thanks, Dan
12) PRB: aspSmartUpload error '800a0035' File not found : aspsmartuploadutil.dll This message occurs when the aspSmartUtil dll isn't in the PATH. The message may be : aspsmartuploadutil.dll was loaded, but the DLLregistryserver http://forums.aspfree.com/asp-development-5/aspsmartupload-error-110017.html entry point was not found. DLLRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of DLL may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it.

Stage 3 : Install aspSmartUploadUtil.dll The objective is to enable the Operating System to access the aspSmartUploadUtil.dll file. There is two ways to archieve this : - Copy aspSmartUploadUtil.dll in the c:\winnt\system32 directory. That way you don't have to update the PATH propertie. - Copy aspSmartUploadUtil.dll into a directory on the NT server (e.g. c:\mydir). Add the component directory in the PATH using the commands : PATH=%PATH%;c:\mydir (From DOS)
www.simplelyrics.net - www.playstormgames.com.com - www.g1games.com - www.quotemeanings.net - www.ourfreegames.com Faq Reply With Quote April 23rd, 2006,01:07 PM #2 Shadow Wizard Moderator From Beyond Join Date Sep 2004 Location Israel Posts 31,135 Rep Power 2924 why use component when you have pure ASP upload script? I know my upload wasn't fit for you, but so far I did not encounter any problem with the above upload. converting to the new upload script should be simple, you don't have to install anything or spend hours on the documentation. It's quick & easy. aspsmartupload error P: n/a https://bytes.com/topic/asp-classic/answers/789777-aspsmartupload-error =?Utf-8?B?VG9kZA==?= I am using Windows XP and have registered the aspsmartupload dll http://schoening.it/blog/how-to-install-aspsmartupload-on-windows-7-vista-server-2008/ and moved it into the system32 directory. I get the following error Error Type: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80070005) [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x918 Thread 0xa90 DBC 0x96768d4 Jet'. The error occurs on the line where not found I set my variable called mySmartUpload Here is my code <%Set Cnn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Cnn.Open "Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq= "& Server.MapPath(".") & "\jobpostingsdb.mdb; uid=admin; pwd=hi12tech" Dim mySmartUpload Set mySmartUpload = Server.CreateObject("aspSmartUpload.SmartUpload") mySmartUpload.Upload sql = "insert into jobpostings (testing) values ('"&mySmartUpload.Form("testing")&"')" cnn.execute(sql) I usually get these types of errors when trying to access a database. My understanding is aspsmartupload has nothing to do with a file not found database. And the database I'm using in this program is making a successful connection (at least there was no error on the line of code that opened the connection). Any suggestions? Thanks!! port some code, that used the component. Which is - in fact - possible. Only a bit undocumented, so here goes: Get the component (google it or try here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/45534/aspsmartupload-v3-2) it has 2 files: aspSmartUpload.dll aspSmartUploadUtil.dll put the files in a folder outside the c:\windows\ folder or subfolders. Reportedly, if you don't do so, you will get the error "module cannot be loaded" or "specific module could not be found". Move aspSmartUploadUtil.dll to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (depending on your Windows folder name) Open a command prompt as administrator if your command prompt is not opened as administrator, you will get the following error: “The Call to DllRegisterServer Failed with Error Code 0×80004005” Go to the folder with aspSmartUpload.dll Type ‘regsvr32 aspSmartUpload.dll’ Hit Enter You should be ready to go! 5 years ago IT ← Missing IPV4 address and domain restrictions in IIS7 HtmlEncode / HtmlDecode without HttpContext → Join the conversation Cancel Reply Reply None - 5 years ago Thanks for your info. Same issue here, classic asp code needs to be migrated to win2008. Only thing you forgot to mention is to put the aspSmartUpload.dll outside c:/windows folder or subfolder. Otherwise, error "module cannot be loaded" is thrown. Reply Frederik Struck-Schøning - 5 years ago Thanks, anonymous guy. I've updated the post. Reply SofTools - 5 years ago One other thing to note - having spent a few hours on this I thought I would share my fix. In order to register the dll (depending on the version), you need the vb5 run time files installed (msvbvm50.dll) these can be found on the microsoft site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/180071 Reply Oz - 5 years ago Worked a treat for me. Thanks To get this working fully on Win7 x64 I had to perform the following additional steps: In Internet Information Services for my application, advanced settings, I had to set the application pool to one that allowed running of 32 bit applications. The DefaultAppPool does not by default. Go to Application Pools and either select an existing one or create a new one (I created one called Classic .NET AppPool 32bit), then go to Advanced Settings and set Enable 32-Bit Applications option to True, then set the application (advanced settings) to use this application pool.
