Also, I can't find anyway to unistall itunes. There is no "uninstall" option under the itunes tab on the start menue or when I right click the icon. I am scared to unistall itunes because it took me a long time to name all my songs and artists correctly and I do not want to loose that information. Please help,JJ HP, Windows XP Posted on May 26, 2008 1:34 PM I have this question too Close Q: "disc recording not found" and I can't burn cd's All replies Helpful answers by b noir, b noir May 26, 2008 6:39 PM in response to Stew Padasso Level 9 (72,129 points) May 26, 2008 6:39 PM in response to Stew Padasso Hello again, Stew. Also when I open itunes it gives me a warning and says "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importingand burning cd's and dvds are missing. Please reinstall itunes."With that one let's first try a reboot and repair.Reboot the PC (very important), and the do a *repair install* of iTunes.Go to your "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".Does iTunes launch without the error message now?If no luck there, try checking for a device filter conflict in your registry:iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by dojotiff, dojotiff Jun 9, 2008 2:43 PM in response to b noir Level 1 (0 points) Jun 9, 2008 2:43 PM in response to b noir I had this same exact problem. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement CoffeeFanatic Thread Starter Joined: Aug 6, 2012 Messages: 16 When i start up iTunes, i get the error message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." When i try to burn a CD, i get the message "Disk Recording Not Found". i have tried the fixes https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1535328?start=0&tstart=0 on the Apple support page, including a repair install, manually putting the driver in the upper filters (GEARAspiWDM) (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3299 (iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes)), and even completely removing all iTunes related software from my computer and reinstalling everything (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925). However, i still end up with the same error messages and cannot burn CDs. I am using good CD-Rs. I ran diagnostics in iTunes, and the bottom part says: **** CD/DVD https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-disk-recording-not-found.1064073/ Drive Tests **** No drivers in LowerFilters. No drivers in UpperFilters. Failed loading CD / DVD drives, error -43. Try doing a repair install on iTunes from the “Add or Remove Programs” control panel. please help, since my iPod is older than the support period, Apple refuses to help me without charging me for thirty days of tech support that i don't need. thanks. CoffeeFanatic, Aug 6, 2012 #1 Sponsor Oddba11 Jim Joined: May 12, 2011 Messages: 5,627 iPod support wouldn't be needed anyway, as this is an iTunes issue. If a Repair install is not working, I'd suggest a complete uninstall, reboot, and install of the latest version. Just take precautions if you have libraries or purchased media. burn a cd I get the message "disc burner or software not found" Solution 1 Originally Posted by squadronx I had this same problem when I http://computerboom.blogspot.com/2009/04/solved-itunes-disc-burner-or-software.html installed a program called Daemon Tools: a program that installs a virtual CD Drive into the computers memory, useful for playing games on your PC that you don't have the actual disc for but have the entire disc image saved on your hard drive. Once that was installed, itunes went cold and couldn't locate my DVD drive and kept saying "Disc burner or software not found". For days I not found couldn't fix it, even after uninstalling daemon tools and reinstalling itunes. Finally I read about an addon to daemon tools that upgrades the SCSI connection and fixes the itune bug. it's called SPTD v1.50 X86 and it's at this site: http://disc-tools.com/download/daemon+sptd+md5sum It worked like a charm for me and I hope that it works for you. (there are two versions on this site 32 and 64 bit editions. I used disk recording not the 32 bit one.) I am on a PC and running Windows XP. Solution 2 New iTunes 8.1.x Here's a fix. It's something called 'burn rights'. You dont' need to re-install older version of iTunes or modify registry, just reset burn rights with Nero. What to do: Open Nero 9. Click on lower left corner burn button - select Nero Burn Rights. Inside the window, click - reset burn rights.. reboot - it will work! If you are still not sure, view the PDF in this link with full NERO reset burn rights instructions directly from Nero. Solution 3 (EDIT) If you have a 64 bit version of Windows read on Reference a b and c itunes installs a driver called: GEARAspiWDM.sys that seems to break the DVD player driver that you see in the device manager with a yellow triangle… The info for this is quite lengthy so I will provide links bellow for further reading and solution: Reference a) http://djlizard.net/2007/04/30/230/ Reference b) Be careful when removing manually removing because this driver is used as an filter driver for your CD/DVD drive and will cause it to stop working if not removed properly. More information on how to delete it can be found at http://www.gearsoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=DRIVERS:_Windo
