clean URL's on XAMPP 4.7 install running PHP 5 - need object not found error 404 php xampp some help Posted by KSA213755 on March 13, 2006 at 10:52am I have (had) a 4.7 beta drupal 403 error 5 test site up and running with XAMPP on an XP box. All was going well until I enabled Clean URL's and then I started getting Object not

I also uncommented the Rewrite base in .htaccess and edited it to read /drupal475 which is the name of folder where I installed drupal. The drupal475 folder is in xampp/htdocs. I then stopped apache

Is this a caching problem or a PHP5 problem or something else? 29, 2008.Edited by mr.baileys, criznach. Log in to edit this page. Narrow the problem The most likely cause is drupal 8 page not found misconfiguration of mod_rewrite or clean URLs on the new server. Confirm this by short-circuiting the clean URL system and requesting pages directly, like this: http://www.example.com/index.php?q=user If the login page is https://www.drupal.org/node/53775 shown, then you can assume that Drupal's page serving mechanism is working properly, but mod_rewrite isn't working. To determine if mod_rewrite is enabled, create a file called phpinfo.php in the root of your site. This file should be accessible from a web browser and contain this code: phpinfo(); Ensure that mod_rewrite is enabled Navigate to phpinfo.php in a browser like this: https://www.drupal.org/node/228462 http://www.example.com/phpinfo.php On that page, look for a section called "Loaded Modules" and check that mod_rewrite is included. If not, mod_rewrite is not being loaded by apache and will need to be enabled. The process will be different depending on the server platform and apache build. Keep the phpinfo.php file for now - it will be helpful later. Ensure that Drupal's .htaccess file is being used Once it's been confirmed that mod_rewrite is enabled, double check that Drupal's .htaccess file is in the site's root, and that it is working. Confirm that .htaccess is enabled by temporarily replacing Drupal's .htaccess file. Make a backup of the existing .htaccess and create one like this... DirectoryIndex phpinfo.php Now try the site URL without specifing a page or file in a web browser: http://www.example.com/. If you see PHP's phpinfo dump, the .htaccess file worked and you can restore the old one. If not, the server may not be allowing .htaccess overrides for your site. Double check your rewrite_base setting If phpinfo was displayed, something may be misconfigured in the existing Drupal .htaccess file. Check the documentati

So i backed up my database and files and installed them in XAMPP. https://www.drupal.org/node/163915 Everything fires up and i get my frontpage but everytime i try to access a link from there i get Object not found! In order for it to be properly enabled, you actually have to place it in a different spot in your apache config file... there's a little tutorial about this here: http://drupal.org/node/43545 Thought it might be worth pointing out, in case you haven't seen this. Actually tried that and its still giving me 404's :( I can however access the pages, but obviously not use the site, by typing in q=? and the place i wish to go. I'm absolutely at a loss as to why this is doing this so need to disable clean urls on the test site i guess. Anyone know where in mysql it is and what settings to disable clean urls ? If not, go to httpd.conf in your Apache directory and search for "mod_rewrite" in a list of modules. Once you have found it, remove the "#" at the beginning of the line. Or why does it look for the /project/Drupal6 URL that you mentioned before? Is any of the above the URL path which appears on your front page? Be specific. Also, while looking at your front page, hover over the links to see if the links use the same base path as the front page or they change it. Also make sure that none of those are in your $base_url line in /sites/default/settings.php. Have you made any changes to your .htaccess file?
