Object Not Found Error 404 Php Xampp
2006 at 10:52am I have (had) a 4.7 beta 5 test site up and running with XAMPP on an XP localhost object not found error 404 box. All was going well until I enabled Clean URL's and then I started getting Object not found errors. I then read http://drupal.org/node/43545 and followed the instructions on that page by

moving the the mod_rewrite line in httpd.conf as instructed. I also uncommented the Rewrite base in .htaccess and edited it to read /drupal475 which is the name of folder where I installed drupal. The drupal475 folder is in xampp/htdocs. I then stopped apache and restarted it. Now I'm still getting the "Object not found" error. I assume I did something wrong even though the drupal 500 error instructions seemed easy enough to follow "once I read them." Is this a caching problem or a PHP5 problem or something else? Revert it back to the default and try it again. KSA213755 commented March 14, 2006 at 11:50pm Since my original post was a ways down the list, I thought I'd ask about this problem with clean URL's again in hopes that someone knows what causes it and how to fix it. Seems like I read somewhere that posting a new comment was the preferred way to raise an unresolved issue again. Roger Log in or re
decided to move hosting providers. I transferred all of the content, I transferred all of the databases, I edited all the configs for the

Wordpress 404 Error
When I go to the website the main page pulls up fine, however, if I try going to ANY other "page not found" errors on every page except homepage pages (unless it is a direct link to an add-on website), or even logging in for that matter I get a 404 Page not found page...and it's not the custom when I https://www.drupal.org/node/53775 have setup in Drupal. Take a look around the new host, you get 404 errors on almost everything you click on unless it is a named link back to the old host. Please help me people, I have absolutely no idea how to fix this issue. If you have any questions please reply here and I will answer them as quickly as possible. Thanks a million https://groups.drupal.org/node/105954 in advance! You'll have to check with the hosting co. to figure out how that's done. Maybe issue with the symlinks. Try to copy/paste the below, and see if that resolves (it has worked for me in the past for same issue): #

Order allow,deny
# Don't show directory listings for URLs which map to a directory.

So i backed up my database and files and installed them in XAMPP. Everything fires up and i get my frontpage but everytime i try to access a link from there i get Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 404 localhost 06/13/06 09:16:41 Apache/2.2.0 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8a mod_autoindex_color not found PHP/4.4.1-pl1 I had friendly urls urned on on the live site but can't find the database entry in the mysql to disable that (it may be the cause of the problem). I've made sure that settings.php has the correct url path and enabled mod_rewrite in apache and restarted the engine. Anyone any ideas as to where to look ? In order for it to be properly enabled, you actually have to place it in a different spot in your apache config file... there's a little tutorial about this here: http://drupal.org/node/43545 Thought it might be worth pointing out, in case you haven't seen this. Actually tried that and its still giving me 404's :( I can however access the pages, but obviously not use the site, by typing in q=? and the place i wish to go. I'm absolutely at a loss as to why this is doing this so need to disable clean urls on the test site i guess. Anyone know where in mysql it is and what settings to disable clean urls ? If not, go to httpd.conf in your Apache directory and search for "mod_rewrite" in a list of modules. Once you have found it, remove the "#" at the beginning of the line.
