Server Error 404 File Or Directory Not Found
Comments 1,522 Views Last Modified: 2012-10-20 Hi, I have a Dynamic Data web application that has for any unknown reason suddenly stopped working. It is working fine while on localhost but after deployment I get an error 404 each time I try to navigate to any of the dynamic data aspx pages. I'm using .net 4.0 with iis 6.0 with asp.net set to allowed in iis. I come to my start page (Default.aspx) 404 - file or directory not found. iis7 but fail to go anywhere from there. I did an update to my SQL server adding two more tables. After that I re-imported the model into VS 2010 project, testing on local host etc. I also tried a new project from scratch, just connected it to the DB without any further adjustment, same story here, worked on localhost but failed after deployment. I have also verified that the web extension is allowed in iis (http://sunilgurjaraspdotnet.blogspot.se/2012/07/http-error-404-file-or-directory-not_29.html) I think this post is similar to my problem except for the VS version: http://forums.asp.net/p/1293946/2507242.aspx I've also tried this: http://support.powerdnn.com/KB/a194/setting-aspnet-isapidll-for-wildcard-applications.aspx Any clues? We don't see this added to the ISAPI Filters? –Cold T Dec 15 '13 at 13:49 @ColdT ASP.NET 4.5 is never installed in a separate directory. Mount the tag. You will notice that images have been successfully added to DOM as expected. Open console and you can see a 404 error for an incorrect image url. Here is a JS Fiddle for same http://jsfiddle.net/ux6p8ksd/, open console and you should be able to see the error. I tried debugging the error and it turns out, while placing elements in pseudo DOM, an extra tag is created initially with src="variable-name". Since browsers start downloading image as soon as it is places in src attribute, this causes a 404 error. IMHO a possible solution can be going angular way and allow users put attributes as rt-attribute_name and strip 'rt' while creating DOM. Riot member tipiirai commented Feb 13, 2015 Thanks.
