The problem is that the EPS to PDF conversion is somehow broken: \usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx} \graphicspath{{img/}} \DeclareGraphicsExtensions{.pdf,.jpeg,.png} ... \begin{figure}[!t] \centering \includegraphics[width=3.5in]{TCP_VC_TD_AVE_CONNS_ACT} \caption{Simulation Results} \label{fig_sim} \end{figure} ... After upgrading my OSX to El Capitan, I couldn't do anything in texmaker at first because the .tex file would http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/295832/epstopdf-package-converts-a-file-and-pdftex-package-doesnt-find-it not be found. I fixed the problem strictly following this guide. Now everything works, except for when I want to include a .eps file in the \includegraphics environment. Then I get the error message: ! Package pdftex.def Error: File 'figure_overview-eps-converted-to.pdf' not found. Here's the relevant part of my code: \begin{figure} \centering \makebox[\textwidth][c]{\includegraphics[width=1.25\textwidth]{figure_overview}} \caption{Single-parameter sweep overview} \label{1parsweep} \end{figure} The log file says this: Package epstopdf Info: Source file:

If you don't need any of the fancy options of epspdfconversion, maybe \usepackage{epstopdf} will do, without even the command line option, if your TeX distribution is recent. –egreg Nov 14 '11 at 23:39 @egreg How do I execute this -shell-escapeoption? –Rodrig
