Joomla 404 Error On Homepage
a trouble ticket to the webhost, and they suggested I ask here, since it seems to have something to do with being logged in (or trying to log in) to the site. The home page comes up fine, but when you try to log in, you get that error. Pages that are visible to guests joomla administrator 404 category not found are also coming up fine. I'm not 100% certain this is a CB issue. Some of my members have told me via e-mail that when it first began to happen this afternoon, they were already logged in and it happened when they tried to access other member-only pages, such as Kunena forum and uddeIM. But I thought this would be the best place to start. I should also tell you that right before this began happening, I had my PHP upgraded from 5.2.17 to 5.3.16. The webhost insists that this was not the cause. I also upgraded Kunena from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 earlier in the day. I hope someone can help me - I've got a lot of upset users! I have several forms created that are accessible by clicking on menu items. However, only one not found menu item is working and actually displays the form. The others throw a 404 category not found error, similar to this http://mywebsite/index.php/Manage%20Backend%20Menus/breezingforms. Any ideas why I can't add new menu items? Once there, select your forms and create a new package with them. Then go again to the configuration menu and install this package. Change the name of the forms (just a bit) and create the new menu items related with this new forms. It sounds a bit weird, i know, but sometimes it works in this case. The 404 error was thrown when I clicked on the menu item and again it was looking in the Manage Backend sub folder, e.g. mysite.org/index.php/Manage%20Backend%20Menus/attendopenhouserb. The menu item that works has the following url, mysite.org/index.php/breezingforms2. Notice that it is not looking in the Manage Backend Sub folder. Thanks, John The administrator has disabled public write access. 404 Category Not Found 2 years 6 months ago #110507 Posts:14326 Thank you received: 960 pedro81 Administrator Offline Karma: 260 Hi, Do you use any Cache Plugins? I have FTP access or I can email her what I need done and she'll do it. On to my problem: Whenever I have Search Engine Friendly URLs turned on in Joomla's Global Config area any articles I navigate to using the menu give me the error "404 - Category not found". I've searched for solutions online but what I've found either: a. cost money. b. is for an older version of Joomla where the solution no longer translates. c. seems half-assed (like creating a secret menu for each category to force Joomla to recognize them) Any suggestions on what to try? You can take a look at the discussion by clicking on the Reference Link. Try upgrading your site to Joomla 3.1.1 and see if that resolves the issue. I'm not sure if v3.1 addressed this issue already though. You have a client who has a friend who controls the site but you are expected to run the site. I'd give your client an ultimatum: Either her friend is the webmaster or you are. The c
