Now it throws this error?? The DoThis is on the same class so should work? I have a generic handler which contains: public class MyHandler: IHttpHandler { public void Processrequest(HttpContext context) { switch (somepage) { case "page1.aspx" this.DoThis(); // throws error now System.MissingMethodException: Method not found? }

As 'sound' noted, this code isn't valid. Please give us a complete code snippet that demonstrates the problem. –Amy Nov 9 '11 at 2:11 add a comment| 17 Answers 17 active oldest votes up vote 169 down vote accepted This is a problem which can occur when there is an old version of a DLL still lingering somewhere around. Make sure that the latest assemblies are deployed and no duplicated older assemblies are hiding in certain folders. Your best bet would be to delete every built item and rebuild/redeploy the entire solution. share|improve this answer edited May 5 at 10:33 Luke Girvin 9,70554768 answered Nov 9 '11 at 2:10 Polity 9,27612132 26 In particular, be sure an old version is not in the GAC. –ladenedge Aug 4 '12 at 2:40 3 Also, if you're working in

I have tried repairing my .NET installation. Note: This error only http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8058832/system-missingmethodexception-method-not-found occurs on one machine. On every other machine it works fine which makes me think something with the .NET assemblies was corrupted. It was working fine on the broken machine a few days ago. NGEN puts them in the GAC. So if you go to the GAC, and find the native image for the assembly that has the missing method (Microsot.VisualBasic.dll?), delete it, and see if that helps. When I had this problem there was a chain of errors, so I deleted all native images related to SQL Server. This might not be your issue, but it's easy to test. –Richard Hein Apr 18 '12 at 15:06 | show 3 more comments 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted It is somewhat likely there are corrupt assemblies in your .NET installation. I have fixed similar problems like this before, and I hope I can share some insights to help you solve this relatively quickly, as it is extremely annoying. Use this tool here to verify your installation of .NET 2.0. As a note, this can be used to verify any version of the .NET Framework. Reg
