That is the puzzling thing.[2] Finder copy failsWhen a dmg file fails to mount with the "Input/Output error", an attempt to duplicate the same file on the same disk produces the *error code -36* though the file is indeed duplicated. If I try to copy the file onto the Desktrop, it results in the same *error code -36*. But, in this scenario, I have to Force Quit the Finder to terminate the copying.According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1618, the *error code -36* means *I/O error (bummers)*. But, I do not know what this error implicates. Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by glsmith,★Helpful glsmith Jul 28, 2008 12:34 PM i

You can do this by launching Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and running Repair Disk Permissions. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Please explain repair disk permission, I have never done this. Do I launch this with the Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional disk loaded in my MacBook Pro? Exactly what does this do? Thanks! It just looks through all the permissions set for all the files and folders on your hard drive and fixes them.Just run Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and choose Repair Disk Permissions. Very easy. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 4.
