(Right click, run as administrator) –Bgi Sep 6 '12 at 15:26 yes, but same result. –Ram Sep 6 '12 at 15:29 Could it be some kind of missing dependency DLL for wampapache? Run Depends on the services that aren't starting and see if there is a side-by-side or missing DLL issue. Unless you've tried that already. –strangefreeworld Sep 11 '12 at 11:57 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 44 down vote accepted My solution to fix that problem was the following: Start > search > cmd.exe (Run as administrator) Inside the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) type: cd c:/wamp/bin/apache/ApacheX.X.X/bin httpd.exe -e debug **Note that the ApacheX.X.X is the version of the Apache wamp is running. This should output what the apache server is doing. The error that causes Apache from loading should be in there. My problem was that httpd.conf was trying to load a DLL that was missing or was corrupted (php5apache2_4.dll). As soon as I overwrote this file, I restarted Wamp and everything ran smooth. share|improve this answer answered Aug 7 '13 at 17:24 ha

I decided to remove the 2.2.23 release and install 2.4.3 VC9 version yesterday. After installation, https://www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?p=23843 I was able to run Apache by running httpd.exe from command line. I can also install Apache service using "httpd -k install" with no problem. However, when I tried to start Apache service using "httpd -k start", it didn't work for me. Starting Apache from apachemonitor also failed. I checked error.log and found the following output: Starting the Apache2.4 service [Mon Feb 18 19:00:33.498207 2013] [mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 7564:tid 376] (OS 1053)The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. : AH00378: Apache2.4: Failed to start the service process. Can someone tell me what the problem might be? Thanks in advance!
