Some services will start , then stop again, that is normal. Also just for good measure an older one, make sure that the "windows event log" serv also functioning. What are you trying to "connect" exactly (the service type or any info)? Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." Which suggests something else needs to be running and isn't but to the best of my knowledge everything that should be running is.
