I've had to roll it back due to memory leaks. They have new mcafee mcshield service patches, but from what I've seen in the forums, there is still issues. This is probably unrelated to what you are seeing (I still have a few PCs with 8.8 that I have yet to get to), but the additional issues are worth bringing to management and holding off till they get the fix permanent. 0 Tabasco OP Mark Wormald Dec 9, 2011 at 6:59 UTC We think we have an answer - still testing it Ignore the error message - and once it is complete, install the agent over the top Will update this later 0 Mace OP Denis Kelley Dec 9, 2011 at 7:02 UTC If you are interested in what else may go wrong, check out this thread on the McAfee forum. 0 Tabasco OP Mark Wormald Dec 12, 2011 at 3:53 UTC Well - can't say I like it but ... If you tell the McAfee AV installer to ignore the fact that it can't start the service Allow the install to complete and then install the latest McAfee Agent over the top The services start successfully after this. As a comment it seems totally wrong to be ignoring an error message on the install of something as critical as AntiVirus 0 Tabasco OP Mark WormSQL Server 2014 Express resources Windows Server 2012 resources Programs MSDN subscriptions Overview Benefits Administrators Students Microsoft Imagine Microsoft Student Partners ISV Startups TechRewards Events Community Magazine Forums Blogs Channel 9 Documentation APIs and reference Dev centers Samples Retired content We’re sorry. And the ATI LDDM driver that is included with Vista runs better than the ATI LDDM driver from ATI's website. :)For future issues that you have about Vista, please post it in http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/newsgroups/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.longhornhelp&lang=en&cr=US . The current MSDN Forum is more for the developers. :) Tuesday, October 04, 2005 10:31 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Although it is possible to upgrade from XP to 5219, there are still lots of problems and are not iron out yet. Let me suggest that you do a clean installation of Vista.BTW, McAfee is known not to work in Beta 1 and 5219 build of Vista.
