And do you use APEX in a translated version or in English? Any special characters have to be treated correctly by each component on the way. Since your proxy needs to rebuild the request in the SSL case, it could happen that the request to OC4J gets some unsupported encoding. Do you see similar errors in other situations, e.g. other notifications in APEX? And just to make the picture complete, which APEX and APEX Listener versions do you use
