installation failed:1603" i have had no prior trouble installing and uninstalling programs. I have a new 64 bit viao running win7 that has been a joy for about a month until i tried to use my verizon usb720 wireless modem. I updated the vzaccess software and drivers from verizon's web site. Problem, the driver will not install, getting the above error message - and i cannot uninstall it, either. I spent 2 hours with verizon tech support and they were unable to resolve the problem, finally claiming it's a windows problem. I found a similar problem posted (also involving the same modem) but the moderator's suggested solution (see below) did not work and was inapplicable to win 7. I did steps 1-4 with no problem, but did not download the 4. 5 installer b/c it is not for win7. To assist you better, please provide us more information.
