Description I've had a Windows 7 guest configured for raw disk access to my virtualbox no bootable medium found bootcamp partition for a long time. The guest works in VirtualBox 5.0.0, but it fails to start in the version 5.0.2, and 5.0.4. I've attached the VBox.log file and contents of the pop-up error from version 5.0.4. Reverting to 5.0.0 fixes the problem. I upgraded from the latest 4.3 to 5.0.4 when I hit this; downgrading as suggested was the only way to solve it. I've attached log files. I've run VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename sda.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/sda clicked Use existing hard disk in VirtualBox and selected sda.vmdk, but then it throws the following error: Failed to open the hard disk /home/a930913/sda.vmdk. About error on boot XP: reboot to XP and set 'Standart IDE controller' in device manager 4 u IDE controller, also u can set 'Stadart VGA controller' 4 u videocard (create new hardware profile may be a good idea). In VirtualBox mashine properties enable 'Use IOAPIC' option. Good luck! share|improve this answer answered Jun 11 '11 at 19:36 Damir 361 I didn't find how to set the Device Manager stuff, but ticking the Use IO APIC option did the trick. Thanks! –930913 Jun 16 '11 at 5:19 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Si
is a hypervisor used to run operating systems in a special environment, called a virtual machine, on top of the existing operating system. VirtualBox is in constant development and new features are implemented continuously. It comes with a Qt GUI interface, as well as headless and SDL command-line tools for managing and running virtual machines. In order to integrate functions of the host system to the guests, including shared folders and clipboard, video acceleration and a seamless window integration mode, guest additions are provided for some guest operating systems.
