Corrupt downloads are usually a result of a "hickup" on the internet (on your end or the servers) where some 0:s & 1:s get messed up. I sometimes get them when downloading with webbrowsers, other times it has happened with download managers but then its usually a crappy compression technic used in the file being downloaded.(Compression helps with preventing corrupt downloads, cant remember the egghead words). 0 Oathmaster Bedford, NSMember Posts: 5 January 2005 tried download manager but no go sadily, downloaded at gamershell site also but got an error oddly trying to unzip it. TheHod Tacoma, WAMember Posts: 2 December 2006 in EVE Online I've been doing a lot of reading and research about EVE and am really excited to give my 14 day trial a shot. I downloaded the client (File name: EVE_Setup_27912) from eve-online.com and when I go to initiate the installer I get this error:NSIS Error----------The installer you are trying to use is corrupted nsis error or incomplete. This could be a result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus. You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch(NOT RECOMMENDED).----------What now? I originally downloaded with Firefox, then tried IE 7 (which is crap, btw) to the same effect. I looked online for maybe a mirror site to get it from, but with no luck. I also looked online for nsis error windows the /NCRC switch and everybody said it's a bad idea. I'm not sure what to do. Wanted to see if there have been any of you out there that have also run into this problem, and if there's an easy fix of some kind. I hope there is indeed someting that can be done because I REALLY want to play this. I tire if the simplicity and monotony of WoW and wanted something different. I don't think one can get any more different than EVE. 0 Comments Monde Cape TownMember Posts: 133 December 2006 What are you using to download? Straight IE / Firefox or with a Download manager? I would go to the Eve website (www.eve-online.com)and contact Tech Support through the Forum or log a Petition. Good Luck and hope to see you in Space. Fly Safe 0 TheHod Tacoma, WAMember Posts: 2 December 2006 I just used the browser's downloader. I suppose I could try using DAP or GetRight or something, but I think it's the installer itself that's corrupted. I tried the /NCRC command line switch and the game started to install like it should, but just under halfway through it said that one of the things it was installing (I forget what, should have written it down) was corrupted. So I'm led to belive it's the installer itself. I'll just throw an email to them and hope they can fix 'er up nice an right! If anybody ahs anything else to comment on, advice or
