Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up NSXMLParser works fine in iOS5 but not working in iOS6 up vote 0 down vote favorite In my iOS application, i m trying to parse the below xml using NSXMLParser. I can successfully parse this xml in iOS5 but in iOS6 the parser not getting into parserdidStartElement . In iOS6 parserDidStartDocument is successfully called but not getting into any other parser delegate methods.. Is there any problem with the xml format?? How can I fix this..

I haven't tried parsing it with NSXMLParser though so I'm not sure it stumbles over the error. The file contains a tag "" which is closed with "" (note the extra space after "id") This might definitely cause the parser to abort operation. Also, but that could just be me, the file loads pretty slow. So the parser might just think its too slow and quit? I dunno. This has resulted in several fixes are available http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/nsxmlparser-problem.568251/ in the 2.0 version. One will give you the ability to enter your xmlrpc endpoint manually if it can't be found by the app. Another catches HTML errors and presents them for a clearer understanding of what's going on. However, it will always be possible to get NSXMLParserErrorDomain errors (especially from a self-hosted nsxmlparser error blog) because they refer to errors in the parsing of the XML returned from the blog. Themes or custom php code that results in malformed XML are the common causes. Even if the iPhone application is going to ignore the specific "component" the parsing can break if XML is malformed. In the 1.3 version, these errors can occur because the server HTML error message was processed nsxmlparser error 9 by the XML Parser. This is fixed in 2.0. Once you're using WP for iPhone 2.0 or later, the error should be a hint about the way in which XML is malformed. A good test is to remove custom code or turn off themes and then try to connect again.
