A refresh forces the system to reference the user GUID that is contained in the new directory server. Authentication errors unable to sign in obiee 11g might result if the GUIDs are not refreshed and the system detects a mismatch for the user GUID. And even after GUIDS referesh OBIEE 11g System will cache the UserID in webcatalog and always the cached ID will be callup instead of new GUID for User. This wrong GUID calling will leads to Authentication failure errors.

Sometimes we can delete the user and recreate to solve this. But, This recreation of same user again miss its ID reference for Catalog objects. And We will end up with Missing My Folders and other objects. Because OBIEE 11G maps the RPD objects and Catalog objects based on system assigned GUID.To solve this we need to validate the Useraccounts to map the OBIEE RPD and Catalog object links. To do this perform the following steps 1) Backup Instanceconfig.xml file from location:

in Oracle Business Intelligence This appendix describes common problems that you might encounter when configuring and using Oracle Business Intelligence security, and http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/bi.1111/e10543/troubleshoot.htm explains how to solve them. It contains the following sections Section C.1, "Resolving Inconsistencies With the Identity Store" Section C.2, "Resolving Inconsistencies With the Policy Store" Section C.3, "Resolving SSL Communication Problems" Section C.4, "Resolving Issues with BISystemUser Credentials" Section C.5, "Resolving Custom SSO Environment Issues" Section C.6, "Resolving IBM LDAP Init Block Based Authentication obiee 11g on Linux x86 (64-Bit)" C.1 Resolving Inconsistencies With the Identity Store A number of inconsistencies can develop between a repository, the Oracle BI Presentation Catalog, and an identity store. The following sections describe the usual ways this can occur and how to resolve the inconsistencies. C.1.1 User is Deleted From the Identity Store Behavior If login to obiee a user is deleted from the identity store then that user can no longer log in to Oracle Business Intelligence. However, references to the deleted user remain in the repository until an administrator removes them. Cause References to the deleted user still remain in the repository but that user cannot log in to Oracle Business Intelligence. This behavior ensures that if a user was deleted by accident and re-created in the identity store, then the user's access control rules do not need to be entered again. Action An administrator can run the Consistency Checker in the Oracle BI Administration Tool in online mode identify inconsistencies. C.1.2 User is Renamed in the Identity Store Behavior A user is renamed in the identity store and then cannot log in to the repository with the new name. Cause This can occur if a reference to the user under the original name still exists in the repository. Action An administrator must either restart the Oracle BI Server
