Sub test() Dim g1val, g2val As Integer g1val = 0 g2val = 0 For i = 3 To 18 If g1val > Cells(33, i).Value Then g1val = g1val Else g1val = Cells(33, i).Value End If Next i For j = 32 To 57 If g2val > Cells(31, j).Value Then g2val = g2val Else g2val = Cells(31, j).Value End If Next j End Sub share|improve this answer answered Sep 27 '13 at 10:36 Santosh 7,47021847 Thanks..., it worked. but when i run this code the values of 'g1val' and 'g2val' gets emptied.it doesn't pick up greater

Runtime Error 424 Object Required Vba
takes a minute: Sign up VBA Excel - Compile Error Object Required up vote 1 down vote favorite 1 Disclosure: I'm fairly inexperienced at coding of most sorts but have a reasonable understanding of the logic behind it and quite http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19048601/object-required-error-in-excel-vba often just need a little push with getting syntax's right etc. I posted the same code earlier but with a different problem and have no discovered this issue so I thought it best to create a new question for it Objective: What I'm trying to do is create a spreadsheet where across the top row is a list of consecutive dates. In the first few columns is data for bills etc. What I want my macro to do is look http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21745182/vba-excel-compile-error-object-required at the amount of a bill, the start and end dates and the frequency of the bill (weekly/monthly etc) and then populate the cells in that same row in the columns of the dates where the bill is due. I've spent the last day coming up with this code and I was pretty happy with it until I went to run it. I've already got rid of a few bugs where I was using a variable.Value which apparently doesn't exist and I had messed up the syntax for Cells(row, column). The problem that I'm coming up against now is Compile Error: Object Required on this line: Set dateAddress = Range("J1:AAI1").Find(currentDate, LookIn:=xlValues).Address 'find the current date within the range of dates in row 1 What that line is supposed to be doing is searching across all the dates in the first row for that 'currentDate' and then storing that as dateAddress so that I can then use the dateAddress.Column in the next line of code along with the currentRow, to find the right cell that is to be populated with the bill amount. Am I being clear enough? My code is below. My Code: Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim currentDate As Date Dim currentRow As Integer Dim repeatuntilDate As Date Dim repeatuntilRow As Integer Dim dateAddress As Date currentRow = 3 'First row of entries repeatuntilRow = Cells.Find("*", SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlPrevious).Row 'Last row of entries While currentRow < repeatuntilRow 'Loop from first

Hi all. I hope you can spot something here that I am just not seeing. I have two virtaully identical pieces of object required vba code -one works fine, and the other gives me an "Object Required" error. Here is the code that works: Code: Sub AddRegions(stream As String, period As String) Dim wsDump As Worksheet 'Get the right ticket dump If period = "1week" Then Set wsDump = Sheets("TicketDump-1Week") ElseIf period = "4week" Then Set wsDump = Sheets("TicketDump-4weeks") End If wsDump.Select 'Use rows from correct Stream Select Case stream Case "INSTRUMENT" strStream = "Instrument Data" Case "CLIENT" strStream = "Client Data" End Select 'Use the headings to get the columns we will need For Each Heading In wsDump.Range("A2", Range("A2").End(xlToRight)) Select Case Heading Case "Client/Instru" repStream = Heading.Address colStream = Range(repStream).Column Case "L1/L2" L1L2 = Heading.Address colL1L2 = Range(L1L2).Column Case "INC Assignee Region" AssigneeReg = Heading.Address colAssigneeReg = Range(AssigneeReg).Column Case "INC Opened Date Time" dt_tm_cell = Heading.Address dt_tm_col = Range(dt_tm_cell).Column dt_tm_row = Range(dt_tm_cell).Row colPrimReg = dt_tm_col + 1 colSecReg = dt_tm_col + 2 Cells(dt_tm_row, colPrimReg).EntireColumn.Insert Shift:=xlToLeft Cells(dt_tm_row, colSecReg).EntireColumn.Insert Shift:=xlToLeft Cells(dt_tm_row, colPrimReg).Value = "Prim Region" Cells(dt_tm_row, colSecReg).Value = "Sec Region" End Select Next and here is the one that doesn't: Code: Sub RepGen() Dim wsAPPs As Worksheet, wsITCM As Worksheet Dim numITCM As String, RAG As String, tmSTART As String, nmAPPS As Str
