email spammer gained access to our Exchange 2003 mailserver and proceeded to spam mail for a couple hours before our IT department was able to completely shut them out and clear our servers. Along the way, one of our IT guys made some changes to our default SMTP virtual server properties, mostly in the ACCESS/Connection Control section where he banned several of the offending IP's and domains that the spam was originating from. Now, when our Sharp MX-B401's attempt to send scanned documents to email, they report that they can't connect to our server, and when I use the remote web interface to connect to printers, I can't connect to our SMTP server. I have tried changing the primary server address from mail.[companyname].com to our mail server's IP address, I have tried forcing SMTP authentication with a username and password (prior to this, there was no SMTP authentication necessary). I have also gone back into our Exchange 2003 and specifically granted our printer's IP addresses relay access. Strangely enough, I h

Your print card and your new SMTP are not talking together. Your system is probably OK at this point, but is unable to communicate well with the new network system. Work with an IT department to resolve this. It will scan-to-network folder though. Their business is connected to the internet with AT&T/Yahoo DSL and I scan to email have tried everything I can think of but I keep getting the following two errors: "Select servers are not found" & "Communication with selected server is lost while sending image" I have tried a multitude of settings in the Network properties but nothing seems to work. I can ping other computers from the Sharp and people can print to it just fine. I have tested the email server settings on a PC next to the copier, and they work fine but it just won't scan-to-email from the copier. Any suggestions? If you don't have any DNS info entered, then this may be your problem. Run IPCONFIG /all from the cmd prompt to get this info. Are you u
