engineering team was investigating an issue on a bounce back a user got and the whole team spent a lot of time researching on below message. Error is [0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501]. At the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_winother/your-message-did-not-reach-some-or-all-of-the/a3e3b83d-ae4a-48c4-afad-d388fd8ed4ea first glance it seems like a problem with permissions on recipient mailbox. However, the error "0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501" comes from trying to submit a message on the Exchange transport. The code 0x0004b9 is an ecNullObject from Store, indicating that the failure occurred because an object referenced was null. This implies that this user was having some intermittent networking issue that happened to hit at the time the http://www.msexchangegeek.com/the-client-operation-failed-error-is-0x80004005-0x0004b9-0x000501/ message was submitted. This behavior is by design and the error is expected when network failures occur. If your computer is connected via wireless or a WAN link, then random failures on the network can be common, and that would explain the behavior. Even on a local area network, RPC failures are not uncommon. In general, this problem is likely caused by intermittent network connectivity issues, or possibly out-of-resource problem on the client machine. I suggest getting back to the user and requesting them to re-submit the message if similar kind of problem occurs in future as well. Our staff are receiving an email back from error is [0x8004010f-0x8004010f-0x000501] our exchange server (System Administrator) saying: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. But looking on the Exchange server I am not able to see it hitting our server at all. Also the user will have emails arrive days after they have been sent, Which has happened to our other 2 users on site also. Possible causes and solutions: This error can be caused by intermittent network problems in which case simply resending the message should work. Outdated DNS entries on the cache in which case flushing the DNS cache should do the trick. To clearup the cachestart the command line utility and type ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. That should clear the cacheso when you resend the emailthe recipient's address will be resolved again and it should work fine. Local address book entries are out of sync with the corresponding server entries. In this case removing the particular address from your local address book should resolve the issue. In Outlook 2010 to remove the entry from your local address book do the following: start typing the address in question on the address bar of a new email, a drop down appears with all matching names; move the mouse over the address of interest and you will see a red "x" appear on the side of that name - click on it to remove that entry. If you tried all the above and are still receiving he same error put a comment here and we will try to help you identify the problem.
