I have an application, in which I BULK INSERT the contents of a csv file into a table through stored procedure. The stored Procedure uses BULK INSERT (SQL Server 2005). This works fine in a standalone system. However when I use the same in a multitier architecture (Web server, Application Server configure windows to enable security account delegation and DB Server) it is throwing 4861 error. Could you please help? The files are stored on the Web Server. The translated error message is: Error – 2147217900:4861: Since it can not be opened for the file \\Servername\c$\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\file.csv, It can not be loaded with large capacity. Operation system error code is 5 (error not ……….) If you're running the bulk insert from a SQL Server job, make sure the user account of the SQL Server Agent service has rights to open the file. If you're running the query from a regular connection, SQL Server will impersonate you and then try to read the file. However, by default, SQL Server is not allowed to act as someone else. Operating System Error Code 3 up vote 11 down vote favorite I'm trying to set up a Stored Procedure as a SQL Server Agent Job and it's giving me the following error, Cannot bulk load because the file "P:\file.csv" could not be opened. Operating system error code 3(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105). [SQLSTATE http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19491812/cannot-bulk-load-because-the-file-could-not-be-opened-operating-system-error-co 42000] (Error 4861) Funny thing is the Stored Procedure works just fine when I execute it manually. The drive P: is a shared drive on Windows SQL Server from LINUX via Samba Share and it was set up by executing the following command, EXEC xp_cmdshell 'net use P: "\lnxusanfsd01\Data" Password /user:username /Persistent:Yes' Any help on this would be highly appreciated sql-server stored-procedures samba sql-server-agent bulk-load share|improve this question asked Oct 21 '13 at 10:17 user1345260 45841227 1 Looks like a permissions issue. The SQL Server Agent usually runs as a different user / with different permissions compared to when you run it manually. Does the Agent work if the file is in a local directory? Is the the Agent also running the net use command? –acfrancis Oct 21 '13 at 10:50 The agent is not running the net use command. I haven't tested that as I don't have RDP access to the SQL Server –user1345260 Oct 21 '13 at 10:53 Well, does it work if you add the net use cmd to the Agent job? Without that, I'm pretty sure the P: drive will only be av

Make> sure that the name is entered correctly.Database error 911We found this error messages on two independent ECC 6.0 systems which both operating system run MS SQL Server since activating early watch reports. At this time data for the early watch report is collected, maybe this is the trigger for this error. But I think that the real cause for this error is located somewhere in the database configuration.By the way there is no shortdump or any additional information in the EWA report.Any ideas or hints? Thank you in advance. 7228Views Re: Database operating system error error 4860 / 911 at OPC Clas Hortien May 31, 2011 9:13 AM (in response to Basti D.) Currently Being Moderated Hi,i assume, that the early watch report wants to read the file CCMS_CHECK_DB_HIST_2011.txt. This is the log of a database check job, which you can schedule in db13. If you do not have this job scheduled, the file will not exist. You can ignore the error, but if you want to fix it, just schedule the DB check job (at least one time) or just create a textfile at this path with this name. Btw, you should run a DB check anyway from time to time to ensure the physical consistency of your database. Recommened is a run every week. The mssqlsystemresource database is a hidden system database, which cannot be accessed directly. I assume that the report scan through all databases (select * from sys.databases) and tries to get more information about this databases then. The error is not severe and can be ignored. If you want to have it fixed, open an OSS message for the EWA tool.Best regards Clas Alert Moderator Like (0) Tweet Actions Login to follow, like, comment, share and bookmark content.
