Operation Failed Outlook 2010 Calendar

I have tried to find an answer for this problem, and although outlook operation failed when sending meeting request I found similar questions and suggested answers in different groups (even from the Microsoft Office site), I don't have a solution yet. Here is my best shot at describing the problem: I use Outlook 2007 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2763886 and Vista. The To-do bar does not show the tasks portion, only an error message in its place: "The operation failed. An object could not be found". This has been the case for a while, no matter if I restart the program or the computer. The To-do bar shows the calendar and appointments, which I like, but the problem is with the tasks. Also, when I go to the Calendar folder, http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/outlook-2007-the-operation-failed-an-object-could-not-be-found the "daily task list" (which I have checked to show in the view options) does not show, and instead the same error message appears. Otherwise email, calendar, contacts and notes work fine. When I go to the Tasks folder, on the panel to the left, under "My Tasks" I see two groups: "To-do list" and "Tasks". Every time I go to the Tasks folder the program goes by default to the "To-do list" group, and I don't see any item, only an error message that says "Cannot display the folder". When I click on the next group "Tasks", then all tasks that I have show up, but still they do not show in the To-do bar or in the Calendar view. I found in the Microsoft side a suggested "workaround" to right-click the personal folder, click Properties, click to select the Display reminders and tasks from this folder in the To-Do Bar check box, and then click OK. I found that this check box was already checked, therefore it did not help my case. Here is another piece in case it helps in diagnosing the problem--I do not know whether this is something important or not: When trying to figure out a way to solve the problem I found in th

"The operation http://cpl-shoe.com/2011/01/27/outlook-2007-the-operation-failed/ failed." Then in a little while , without clicking on send/receive = the email will come in. Did you review the other results for possibilities? Do you have the latest Office service packs installed? Kitch, Jun 12, 2005 #4 bobkatbf Thread Starter Joined: Sep 23, 2003 Messages: 190 The emails do arrive in my Inbox. But not when I click on "Send/Receive". But what is weird is that my emails go out immediately that I send. I guess that I tend to be leary of Service Packs- but maybe I shouldn't be that way! When did latest Service Pack come out? bobkatbf, Jun 12, 2005 #5 bobkatbf Thread Starter Joined: Sep 23, 2003 Messages: 190 why am I getting this message from Microsoft Outlook when I try to download my emails ???: Operation Failed bobkatbf, Sep 25, 2005 #6 EAFiedler Moderator Joined: Apr 25, 2000 Messages: 14,042 Hi bobkatbf Since this appears to be a problem not yet solved, I have merged your post with your original thread. Office 2007. The symptom is that they can not consistently send an email with more than one addressee. When the user sends an email with more than one address, as soon as they hit Send, they receive the error "The operation failed." This symptom persists on both email accounts associated with the Outlook profile. (A POP3 and an Exchange account) Searching on this error, I found many variations to its cause, and a lot of proposed solutions. What worked for me, was uninstalling the entire HP ProtectTools suite, and then performing a Repair operation on Office from Add/Remove Programs. I think that approach might be a bit heavy handed, but I was short on time at the moment, and the suite was only interfering with the user's work, not augmenting it. If I have the opportunity to work on this again, I'm going to start with HP's Privacy Manager that hooks into Outlook and installs a toolbar. Many of the posts I read seemed to have the common theme of killing a third party application that was trying to augment Outlook. If you have this problem, and come across a more elegant solution than nuking HP ProtectTools from orbit, let me know! Hi Jaime :-) Giovani says: February 18, 2011 at 10:25 Just stumbled across this post when looking for a solution for this specific problem. I've just removed HP Privacy Manager from Windows and I'll monitor Outlook to see if this finally gets resolved. I've tried everything befor this, from cleaning the forms cache to create a whole new profile, and It always starts happening again. I'll let you know if removing only Privacy Manager will acctually fix the problem or if I'll need to remove the complete HP ProtectTools. CplShoe says: February 18, 2011 at 10:35 Isn't it great? My mom said hi on my blog. :) Giovani, Please do update me! I'm excited to hear your results. I really think my approach was too heavy handed, there must be another factor in play. We ordered 5 various models of HP ProBooks in the last 3 months, and only one of them had this issue. The only thing that was unique to that user was the connection to a pop3 account in addition to an Exchange account.
