I https://forums.adobe.com/thread/664996 have been using DropDMG for a particular project for several versions now. Today was the first time I tried to use 3.0.4 with this project. When I drag my source file onto DropDMG it begins to create the disk image as usual, but then fails with the following message: Error The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error https://c-command.com/forums/showthread.php/2944-Error-5000 -5000.) How do I go about fixing this? Also, it might help to check the Always run with root access option in the preferences. Before selling my old MacBook Pro, I had backed up all my data on to an external WD hard drive using Time Machine. I had since switched to a desktop but since I did not have any need for the MacBook Pro files at the time, I had put aside that WD hard drive. Recently, I wanted to clear some space on that osstatus error 5000 external drive to make way for some of my present files. I drilled down in to Backups.backupdb and tried to delete files, but was met with the error " An error occurred. The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -5000.) Insufficient access privileges for operation". It did prompt me for a username and password before showing that message. I tried both my current user/pass as well as (what I remember to be) my old user/pass on the MacBook Pro. Both presented me with the same error message. I also did try to mount the drive as Time Machine on my present system, and then try to enter Time Machine and delete it from there. However, clicking on "Enter Time Machine ... " does nothing. Any ideas? burn a DVD of a project. It gives an error of: "OSStatus Error = -5000". According to Google, this is an error that occurs when the filesystem can't write to a particular location. After running FSEventer to watch where Encore wants to write, I find it trying to log the Video TS Layout inside it's own .app bundle! When the user has full permissions to write, Encore creates this file: /Applications/Adobe Encore CS5/Adobe Encore CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/DualLayerVideoTSLayout.logWhen a user does not have write permissions, Encore complains. There are a couple options to fix this;1) Give the world write privilegeschmod o+w DualLayerVideoTSLayout.log2) Change the group to your standard users group
chgrp staff DualLayerVideoTSLayout.logor my favorite...3) Symlink the log file to tmp ln -fhs /tmp/DualLayerVideoTSLayout.log /Applications/Adobe Encore CS5/Adobe Encore CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/DualLayerVideoTSLayout.logSo if you ever run into Adobe Encore CS5 failing to burn, check this log out! The easiest may be #3, since it includes full paths you can simply copy and paste it into the terminal. Hope this helps!
