Bought the client a couple of days ago off Mojang website, downloaded the Mac OS X package, aaaand it doesn't seem to work. I get an error: "Minecraft" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash. Tried downloading it several times and always the same result. I get the following in the console: CoreServicesUIAgent[92486]: Error SecAssessmentCreate: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -67061.) I've tried browsing the package contents, and running the jar file directly works just fine. I'm able to launch minecraft and log in etc., it just seems to be the Mac OS launcher stub that is broken. This is on Mountain Lion 10.8.1, with Apple provided Java. Any suggestions to get this fixed? Hopefully someone else who has a Mac can answer this question, I don't have one.... I got the exact same problem running Minecraft v1.5.2 that I downloaded yesterday from the main site. The FAQ answer to right-click > Open wouldn't work, but changing the main GateKeeper settings works (and seems to stick, you can change it back afterwards). Now, as per http://opensource.apple.com/source/libsecuri

Upon clicking on the app icon, an alert panel flies with the message: "'Metadata Editor 64-bit.app' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash. (Safari downloaded this file on June 12, 2012 from source force.net)". This happens with both the 32 and 64 bit apps; I'm using the editor from the pme-ce-4.5.0-stable.zip distribution. The following notices appear in the system logs: 8/24/12 10:58:35.262 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[206]: ([0x0-0x436f36b].Metadata Editor 64-bit[22692]) Job failed to exec(3) for weird reason: 13 8/24/12 10:58:35.263 AM Dock[21179]: no information back from LS about running process 8/24/12 10:58:35.342 AM CoreServicesUIAgent[22694]: Error SecAssessmentCreate: The operation couldn’t be completed.
