I use outlook for my e-mail and also have Outlook Express available. I am receiving error 80042108 on Outlook after I log off then log back on or if I outlook error log onto the other users account. In Outlook Express, the error is no, socket error 10061, error 800ccc0e. I don't experience this problem when I use fast user switching. I cannot connect using telnet pop.mindspring.com 110 or smtpauth.earthlink.net 25 after a logoff. I have the log for outlook with both successful and unsuccessful attempts. After an unsuccessful try, I am still able to connect with a Toshiba LT through a Linksys outlook error after router/WAP that both computers use to access the net over DSL. This rules out a network connectivity issue. I have read the posting regarding this error and am unclear as to why ie settings would impact my pop connection. I am able to download new e-mail using web mail always. I do have Norton System Works 2006 Std installed which I have disabled and re-enabled to test that condition. I had Mail Washer v2 04 installed, but uninstalled it to see if that would correct the problem. I also un-installed and re-installed MS Office 2003 to test that condition.I surmise that a service, session, or process is either not stopping correctly, or not starting properly when logging on. Following is a copy and paste of the log for a successful then un successful attempt. I have collected a fair ammount of data but don't know how much to include here - please advise. After re-start on xp pro desktop Outlook 2003 11.8118.8132 SP2 - successful connection:2007.06.23 15:27:15 <<<>>>2007.06.23 15:27:15 pop.mindspring.com: Synch operation started (flags = 00000001)2007.06.23 15:27:15 pop.mindspring.com: UploadItems: 0 messages to send2007.06.23 15:27:15 pop.mindspring.com: Synch operation completed2007.06.23 15:27:15 pop.mindspring.com: Synch operation started (flags = 00000030)2007.06.23 15:27:15 pop.mindspring.com: DoPOPDownload(flags = 00000030, max msg = ffffffff): full items2007.06.23 15:27:15 POP3 (pop.mindspring.com): Begin execution2007.06.23
