As of lately I can no longer open these voicemail messages anymore and get the following error when attempting to open it; "Can't create file: VoiceMessage.wav. Right-click on the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder." How can I listen to my voicemail messages again? When you open an attached file directly from within Outlook, Outlook will create a copy in a (hidden) Temp folder on your hard disk first before an application can actually open it. Outlook Temp folder is full In certain circumstances this temp file is not automatically deleted after closing the attachment. When this happens for the 100th time for attachments with the same name, you’ll get the above error. You’ll now first have to clean up the Temp folder before you can directly open attachments with that exact same name again (saving the attachment first and then opening will still work). Posted on 2007-09-26 Anti-Virus Apps Windows OS Outlook 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 6,231 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-22 I have Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2, and Outlook 2003. I receive voicemail messages automatically via email as .wav file attachments. I have been double clicking and playing the messages for months. Suddenly, it stopped working and I receive the error message on all messages received. Other attachments, like Excel still work. Messages that previously played without error i.e. were delivered w/o corruption, no longer play. Even when trying to save the message to a file directory v. open it, it has error message, "Cant create file... check permissions". I've tried different directories to save the file, but all have the error message. 0 Question by:drtony2 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bydrtony2 yes, other .wav files play.
