I get two different errors:1)An error occurred while attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB.DLL.2)Unable to update public free/busy data. An error occurred while attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB.DLLI've been searching the web, with no concrete results for 7. I've found references for everything from Win 95 up through Vista, but, not 7.As I understand it, these are included in Outlook express, which, of course isn't available in 7. Each reference it to 'reinstall OE'. 7 doesn't give you that option, as its not a native application to 7.One reference suggested copying WAB.DLL as well as WAB32.DLL to the sytem32 directory. Didn't work.Would anyone have any id

OUTLOOK Can't Find Address Book, WIN 8.1 Started by barneyhelper , Jan 24 2014 12:05 PM Please log in to reply #1 barneyhelper Posted 24 January 2014 - 12:05 PM barneyhelper Member Member 86 posts I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop that came loaded with Win 8.0 which I installed Outlook from Office 2000 disk. I was able to use Outlook just fine until I upgraded to WIN 8.1. Now Outlook cannot find the Windows Address Book and I can only receive emails (Can't send, reply or forward emails). When I try, I get the following message "An error occured while attempting to open the Windows Address Book. Unable to find WAB DLL.".I've tried deleting and re-installing Office/Outlook but still getting same message. I have imported the wab address file into Windows but that does not help.Any suggestions would be appreciated.PS: Solved the problem. Open Outlook as a new install and choose Corporate instead of Internet Only type.
