She has 2 e-mails in her Outlook Express that will not delete that are from me in November. One has 3 mpegs & the other has a jpg. For the one with 3 mpegs I get the error message "The selected message(s) could not be moved. There is not enough memory." For the 2nd I do not get an error message or anything. I've tried to delete them http://icrontic.com/discussion/25672/messages-will-not-delete-in-outlook-express using the delete key, dragging them to the delete box, dragging them to the recycle bin...she has nothing in any of her folders in Outlook Express & it is set to delete everything in the delete bin upon closing of OE. Someone suggested to use MoveOnBoot, but I can't get the e-mails to drag to it (not sure how to get to them any other way). They would not delete in safe mode either. At a loss here....Thanks once again for all of your help. Aimee 0 «123» Go Comments Dexter Vancouver, BC Canada Jan 2005 edited Jan 2005 Try doing a "compact." Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Clean Up Now -> Compact. That may compact the attachments enough that you can delete the messages. If that does not work, try moving any other mail in that folder to a "holder" folder, then you can try manually deleting the inbox folder from the hard drive. If you want to do that, you may need some further instructions as to where to find the inbox file if you do not know where to look. Let us know if you want to do that, we will need to know what OS you are running and what her username (if any) on the computer is to help you locat

Guy, we highly recommend that you visit our Guide for New Members. Solved: Outlook Express messages won't delete Discussion in 'Web & Email' started by bozito, Mar 16, 2007. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Advertisement bozito Thread Starter Joined: Mar 15, 2007 Messages: 13 I posted this to the Business Applications also. This might be the better forum. All of a sudden some incoming email is undeletable. About one out of seven messages cannot be deleted. Clicking the Delete button has no effect and no error message. Dragging the message to the Deleted Items folder yields the following message: Selected message(s) cannot be moved. An error has occurred. I tried searching Tech Support Guy and found a suggestion about moving the messages out of the Inbox, then deleting Inbox.dbx from my OE identity. I did this. A new Inbox was created just fine so I moved the old messages back into it but the old messages that were undeletable still are. And so are some new incoming messages. So, the "delete the Inbox.dbx" trick did nothing. I can't identify anything about the sticky messages that makes them any different from any other messages. Very weird problem. bozito, Mar 16, 2007 #1 Sponsor brooksy Banned Joined: Feb 14, 2007 Messages: 118 when you right click on the message, can you select delete or is it grayed out? brooksy, Mar 16, 2007 #2 bozito Thread Starter Joined: Mar 15, 2007 Messages: 13 No, it is not grayed out, but selecting Delete has no effect. No error message. It just does nothing. I only get the error message when I try to drag the message to the Deleted items folder. bozito, Mar 16, 2007 #3 bozito Thread Starter Joined: Mar 15, 2007 Messages: 13 BTW, I can move the message to other folders, just not the Deleted Items folder. I thought maybe the problem was that the Deleted Items folder was too full, so I emptied it but to no avail. But that wouldn't have made sense either because why would only one out of seven messages not be deletable? bozito, Mar 16, 2007 #4 vookster82 Joined: Dec 17, 2003 Messages: 744 EDTI: have you tried a reboot, OE6 sometimes gets childish and silently and partially hangs in the background sometimes. t
