able to read some of the files, such as README.aix and installp/mvCD/.toc but when I attempt to read files in usr/lpp/bos I consistently get this error: cat:

Does the error mean that the data has got corrupted (or the media is faulty), or is there another explanation which means I may be able to fix the problem and continue with my migration?
