The printer only shows a 90K page count. I thought those rollers lasted 200K or is that wrong? Anyway someone told me

that they also replace the separation roller clutch and the separation roller tension hp laserjet 4050n 13.1 paper jam spring in addition to the pickup/feed rollers. Is this good advice or paranoia!? If those extra parts aren't needed then

I assume the "HP LaserJet 4000/4050 Pickup Jam Repair Kit" sold on this website will be all I need? Thanks for your time.Bill.PS I bought one of the "HP LaserJet IIP/IIIP 52 Service 13.1 paper jam open input trays Error Repair Kits" from here and was very please with it. Thank You. Respond to this 0 90K pages isn't too bad for feed and separation rollers. The 200,000 figure is the interval that HP recommends for maintenance kits which also include the fuser and transfer roller. The roller life of the rollers themselves is shorter and varies depending on the type and quality of paper being hp laserjet 4000 paper jam used. Usually they don't last more than 90-120 thousand pages. With regards to the separation clutch and spring, if they're working, leave them alone. by david belton on Feb 19, 2003 at 2:44am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I've seen them fail with less than 90K. It all depends on the paper you're using. Some paper causes more wear than others. We don't advocate replacing the separation clutch, but we do include a procedure for minimizing clutch problems. by moe on Feb 19, 2003 at 10:18am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Ok, So the "HP LaserJet 4000/4050 Pickup Jam Repair Kit" sold on this website will do the trick, right? Thanks again for all the help.Cheers,Bill. by unknown on Feb 19, 2003 at 10:25am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Moe what exactly can de done to the clutch to prevent problems? by unknown on Feb 19, 2003 at 5:50pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You point it gray shaft down. Holding the metal band with your fingers, push hard onto a table top. The clutch will fall apart. Pinch the filings together and remove about half

a little bit, but after every 100-200 pages, the printers jam with the same error message again. It only does this from tray 2. The MP and tray 3 trays are printing fine. My next thought was the tray http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/8572 itself as I've checked all the nearby sensors. Anyone run into this? Thanks in advance!13.1 - Paper jam at paper feed area Respond to this 0 Are your trays 2 & 3 the same? If so, have you tried trading them to see if the problem stays with tray#2 or goes to tray#3?Good luck! by Anonymous on Apr 1, 2008 at 1:57pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You issue is probably the backfeed clutch which sits http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/55216 behind the pickup roller in the tray. To test, remove the clutch and put the separation roller back on the shaft even though it moves back and forth it will still work. Try again and see if it still jams. My assumption is it will not. To repair the clutch is easy. Hit the small shaft of it on a hard surface and it separates. Remove the magnetic clutch and then remove about 1/2 of the magnetic filing around it. Put it back together, put it back in the tray and all should be fine. by dmzcompute on Apr 1, 2008 at 4:02pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Yep, they're both 250 sheet trays and I have swapped them out.I'll give the clutch a try and see what happens. I replaced the feed and separation rollers it worked for a little while before the error retruns. I looks as if the feed roller cannot reach the paper during the pickup process. Does anyone know what might becausing this failure? by unknown on Jan 29, 2009 at 1:52pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment AT&T PPF 100 Buy discount ink B

I have made sure there is no paper jammed any where in the printer. I have taken the printer apart to make sure of this. The paper tray is not over filled. Does anyone have any suggestions.
