PXIe-8135 System? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-FlexRIO Primary Software Version: 14.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: 15.1 Secondary Software: Other NI Software>>PXI Platform Services Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers>>PXIe-8133 Problem: I am seeing a Memory Parity Error blue screen when using my PXIe-1075 chassis with a PXIe-8135 controller. How can I avoid this behavior? Solution: The Memory Parity Error blue screen of death is a generic Windows error that can occur for a number of reasons. This article covers one specific case for users with only the following hardware configuration: PXIe-1075 Chassis PXIe-8135 Controller with BIOS version 1.0.2f1 FlexRIO 14.5, 15 National Instruments R&D has discovered an issue where a switch on the PXI backplane of the of the PXIe-1075 chassis fails to properly communicate with the controller when Windows attempts to place the switch into a power state known as D3Hot at the same time the FlexRIO filter driver attempts to communicate with it. This legacy state is not required for proper chassis function. It can be disabled in the Windows registry to prevent the interruption. On PXIe-8135 controllers with BIOS versions earlier than 1.0.1, this issue may manifest without a blue screen. Unexpected system behaviors such as hangs or crashes could also be the result of this issue. To disable this functionality for this specific switch and resolve this issue, run the attached batch file from the Windows command line. The command line must be run as an administrator (right click and select Run as administrator) to have write access to the Windows registry. The following command line arguments can be used with this batch file: To add the patch to the system: disable_D3Hot_1075.bat --install To remove the patch from the system: disable_D3Hot_1075.bat --uninstall To check if the system is patched: disable_D3Hot_1075.bat --check Note: If you reimage the operating system, this patch will need to be reapplied. Also note, if this patch needs to be applied to an already BSoD'ing system, use safe mode to boot into Windows and apply it. Related Links: KnowledgeBase 30PFGMQ7: Blue Screen While Enabling
