Because I like Sharepoint Designer I decided use it to edit the website. I went to open a website with designer and opened C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ The new website is in there so I right clicked on it and noticed a "convert to web" menu option. I selected it and it changed the folder to one with a little globe on it. I then noticed that none of our sharepoint websites work anymore so I right clicked on this new site again and selected "convert to folder" but sharepoint is still not fixed. On the sharepoint/iis server is this error: Event Type: WarningEvent Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0Event Category: Web Event Event ID: 1310Date: 24/06/2008Time: 9:50:06 a.m.User: N/AComputer: GLDCDescription:Event code: 3006 Event message: A parser error has occurred.
