the message is essentially the same. We have some first hand experience in this area, when buying (yes we are also buyers). The advice which will be given first mention here is; Contact eBay Customer Support (or Live Help) ( Felt obligated to say that) AND contact your seller. (VERY IMPORTANT) * A seller has no way of knowing when a buyer is experiencing such issues, unless they hear from the ebay checkout paypal problems buyer. What We Have Found To Work: When we've encountered this error while shopping on eBay, we bypassed the eBay checkout and logged directly into our PayPal account. Near the top of the page, there is a "SEND MONEY" Tab. Directly under this, there is "Pay for eBay Items". Clicking on that, should pull up ALL the purchases you have on eBay that are not yet paid. You can then select the one you would like to pay and complete your transaction. * Sometimes clearing the cookies on your computer will also solve the issue, if it is a cache problem. * It may be best to clear cookies and then restart your computer. * We've noticed that once in a while, this spontaneously clears up on its own without the buyer or seller doing anything at all. One common misconception ... some buyers automatically assume that the error message means there is something wrong with the sellers account. Unless the error message specifically says so, there is probably nothing wrong with the seller's account at all. Share 20 December 2005 The Problem Recently some ebay cannot process paypal payment of my buyers from overseas have been having problems paying for items via paypal. When they click on the "Pay Now" button in the ebay checkout process an error message is returned saying http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/PayPal-Error-When-Attempting-To-Make-Payment-/10000000006894045/g.html "Transaction cancelled please try again later".However the problem keeps persisting. I am aware this is a problem throughout ebay/paypal and is not just associated with one or two accounts. So below is the official "workaround" directly from paypal. The Solution Note: If the item is eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection, you must use the Pay Now button to pay for the item when the listing closes http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/How-to-workaround-the-ebay-paypal-checkout-problem-/10000000000111401/g.html on eBay. If you pay through the Send Money tab on your PayPal account, you will not be eligible. To send money for an eBay item from your PayPal account, please complete the following steps: 1. Log in to your account at paypal.com by entering your email address and password into the Member Log In box. 2. Click the "Send Money" tab. 3. Click "Pay for eBay items" subtab. 4. Click the "Pay" button in the "Action" column. 5. Review the payment details and click "Continue". 6. Review the details of the payment including the "Source of Funds". If the payment that you are sending exceeds the amount of funds in your PayPal account, you can click the "More Funding Options" link to change the source of funds for the payment. 7. Click "Send Money" to complete the payment. To change any information, click "Edit". Please note: If you edit your payment details, the funding source will return to the default method of payment.
