My computer is setup with a number of virtual PCs using VirtualBox, which is Open Source. For each Virtual PC, I have a large (4 - 9 GByte) file that is the virtual system disk. To minimize any possible interactions, I did a system restart and then ran Synology Data Replicator II/Backup as the first task, before starting the Virtual PC monitor.
