We had also tried several power downs, restarts, and removing the newer drive. share|improve this answer answered Sep 11 '11 at 10:19 Scott Szretter 95583255 Any reason why you did not call Dell? –Nils Sep 22 '11 at 21:01 Not in warranty, I was told they will not talk to us if not in warranty? –Scott Szretter Sep 24 '11 at 12:59 That`s a reason, indeed. Perhaps you could mention that next time. –Nils Sep 24 '11 at 19:55 I would add to this that Dell had me TOTALLY take the RAID card out of the box, restart it without the card, shut down again, and put the RAID card back in. This apparently /really/ reseats the card as opposed to just pushing down on it to make sure it's "in". It worked for me on a Dell R420. –Matt Aug 2 '12 at 21:19 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Faceboo

just now booted it for the first time. First thing it does is check the dell r720 pcie training error ram then it looks for the iDRAC card (which I don't have) and then after that is when it displays the error: pcie pcie training error embedded io bridge device 1 training error integrated raid System halted. The pcie card I have in the raid slot is the PERC H710 raid card. The green LED on the card blinks/flickers so I am hoping that's normal for it to do that. http://serverfault.com/questions/310041/dell-poweredge-pcie-training-error-what-to-do The BIOS version on the R710 is 6.0.7. No iDRAC? If that and reseating doesn’t work it may be a bad PERC card. 0 Anaheim OP TDavidG Jul 21, 2015 at 12:01 UTC Ok so i need to correct my OP. I am able to log into the BIOS ONLY IF i wait until it promts me at

Posted on 2011-11-16 Server Hardware Embedded Hardware Hardware 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 10,167 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-13 I have a Dell Power Edge 1950. When I pcie training boot the machine it stops before completing the POST. It says System Halted. Then it gives the error "PCIe Training Error: Internal Storage Slot" I read different forums online and I have it narrowed down to three cards that are possibly giving the problem to the best of my knowledge. When reading online no one stated which card it is exactly. Most people buy all three cards and replace all three so they do not waste time pcie training error on the repair. I would to like to know which card it actually is rather then order all three and replace all three. I like to know what is actually causing the problem and/or the best way to trouble shoot it. By reading online, the devices that are most likely to cause this error is the PERC5 Raid Controller, the PCI-E Riser Card, or the Backplane Board. Most of the posts said it was not the riser cards but no one took the time to trouble shoot the problem. I removed and reseated the riser cards and got the same results. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
