Bill Hays 1 Answer Edit Answer (for another -29 minute) Hi,the printout is a processing error of your PCL XL (PCL6) printer driver. The reason can vary from file to file.Often it's a lack within pcl xl error illegalattributevalue the PDF structure the driver cannot handle properly. The most common workaround it to activate the "Print as Image" checkbox in the Advanced Settings of the print dialog of your Adobe Reader or Acrobat. This may cause a slower printout and larger spool file.Another option would be the usage of a PostScript (PS) driver for your printer. A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/PCL-XL-Error-and-other-weirdness/td-p/164 about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! Solved HP Printer will not print PDF files Posted on 2012-07-16 Printers and Scanners 1 Verified Solution 14 Comments 2,608 Views Last Modified: 2012-07-17 One of our users is unable to print .pdf files to an HP Color Laserjet 2025n printer. However, everyone else can print .pdf files to that printer, and the user can print the same .pdf files to a different printer just fine. The user is currently running Windows 7 with all of the latest updates. I have tried reinstalling Adobe Reader and the printer driver. The printers are installed via group policy, which pulls the drivers down from a print server. So, everyone has the same printer installation/driver. When trying to print, it takes a little longer than it should to show as "Printing" and eventually just prints out the following error message: PCL XL Error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: illegalTag Operator: Ox2z Position: 2 The driver it is using is HP Color Laserjet cp2020 series PCL 6. Obviously, these are network printers. The issue occurs whether connected wirelessly or over Ethernet. 0 Question by:brholmberg Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 17 Active today Best Solution bypjam Just a shot but are they using the Adobe Reader X by any chance.
