few minutes. Join Now When trying to print a large PDF (86 pages) from Adobe Reader after 46 pages I get the following error printed out and the print job just stops. PCL XL error Subsystem: IMAGE Error: ExtraData Operator: ReadImage Position: 134591 I am running XP and printing to a HP LaserJet 4000n. The print drivers are HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.3). I have 64bit machines running so http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c01233751 i need to have the universal drivers (HP doesn't have Windows 7 64bit drivers for the LaserJet 4000). Is this an issue with the print driver or is it something with the PDF or Adobe Reader? Let me know if you have any other questions. Do you know if it's spooling the entire document first on a print server or the local computer before sending to the printer or is it sending the document to the printer immediately? Might want to test those settings if it's not an issue with the document itself. 1 Datil OP lhatsynot Dec 5, 2011 at 9:28 UTC I tried printing again starting with the last page the successfully printed and i got 3 pages out then another "PCL XL error" only with a different position (Position: 11942). The printer is networked and goes through a print server it spools and starts printing immediately. The event viewer on the print server shows the job went through. 0 Jalapeno OP Eric8553 Dec 5, 2011 at 9:33 UTC Have you tried the Universal Postscript driver? I have alot more success with PDF files using Postscript drivers (especially with my HP printers). 0 Poblano OP IdZ-v9 Dec 5, 2011 at 9:36 UTC Usually my first step is to delete the printer from the local PC and re

Mainly when printing from a laptop. "Data Violation-Press Set- PCL Request 016-720" the laptop is a lattitude C400, windows xp, pentium 3 processor... Any idea what may cause it? I've tried to read about it but all I can come up w/ is that it may be related to fonts somehow.... or not... Thanks! 0 Advertisements #2 Samm Posted 19 March 2007 - 08:17 PM Samm Trusted Tech Member 3,476 posts Welcome to G2G, LadyZK Have you tried doing this : In the application that causing problems (e.g Powerpoint), when you attempt to print (File-print..), select the Printer driver that ends in PS3 (i.e Dell Laser Printer 5100cn PS3). This will force it to use the postscript driver. Let me know if this solves your problem or not 0 Back to Hardware, Components and Peripherals · Next Unread Topic → Similar Topics 4 user(s) are reading this topic 0 members, 4 guests, 0 anonymous users Reply to quoted postsClear Geeks to Go Forum → Hardware → Hardware, Components and Peripherals As Featured On: Geeks to Go Blog Community Sign In Create Account Geeks to Go Forum 334,785 topics Quick Links FAQ Malware Cleaning Guide How it Works Downloads 2+ million Live Chat Search Advanced Search section: Google This topic Forums Members Help Files D
