I receive the 0x80070643 error when I try to install the Movie Maker/Photo Gallery movie maker bundle from Windows Live Essentials 2011. Sometimes the 0x80070643 error has been attributed to Photo Gallery. Other times it has been attributed to Movie Maker. Writer installs with no problem. I formerly used Live Mail but uninstalled it quite awhile ago, and haven't tried to install the other Live Essentials. 2. All of the registry values appear to be correct, and the automatic fixer didn't help. I ran and received a clean report from System File Checker. 3. Windows firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials were turned off during the failed installation. 4. I'm using Win7 with a fairly new and capable 64-bit Sony Vaio. 5. Error code 0x80070002 My OS is Win7 Pro 32bit with SP1 and all updates installed. Whenever I try to open Windows Live Photo Gallery I am told: Windows Live Photo Gallery encountered an error and cannot start. Error code 0x80070002. I have the latest version of WLPG. I have tried http://forum.thewindowsclub.com/microsoft-web-services/32954-windows-live-photo-gallery-encountered-error-cannot-start-error-code-0x80070002.html uninstalling and reinstalling the program and the repair option, and a Microsoft Fixit which says it succeeded, but the problem persists. The strange thing is that if I open My Pictures then open a folder and select a picture it opens in WLPG,but if I then click on Edit the program crashes. If anyone can tell me how to fix this problem I would be grateful. Thanks and regards,Roy Reply With Quote 21st July 2011,23:14 #2 Capt.Jack Moderator Join Date Sep 2010 Posts 296 Hello there!
