to provide the following feedback because I figured out a way to circumvent the error message and still save my file in the edited condition. I got the error message "Could not complete your request because of a program error" when I attempted to save a file that I had edited (it should be noted that at the same time, I had 2 other similar files open that I had also edited for which the error message didn't pop up.) This is precisely what happened: I had finished editing my photograph - I clicked on "Save as" and the error message popped up. So I tried clicking on just "Save" - same error message popped up. So, I clicked on the "X" to close the file - a window popped up to ask me if I wanted to save the changes I'd made - I chose "yes" - and then again, the same error message popped up. (isn't it odd, how a situation like this compels you to scold the computer program; as though it actually can hear you?!!). After inquiring of the program, "So why did you ask me if I wanted to save the changes, when you had no intention of letting me do so?" After that, I ruminated on the situation .... I had spent a lot of time meticulously working on perfecting a colorization of an old black & white photo - and my result was superb, and not only did I not want the hour's work to

vast amounts of experience in debugging software issues on computers. OK... this is REALLY photoshop could not complete your request because the smart object is not directly editable bizarre..... about a week ago I got this error while trying to save a file under Photoshop CS. It happened once... photoshop could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document then went away. The very next day... I got the same error while trying to open any (and I mean) any file in Photoshop... I'm talking new files or old files, JPEG's, PNG's, TIFF's, etc. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/could-not-complete-your-request-because-of-a-program-error I deleted preferences, settings, all of that. Tried booting up without plugs installed, etc. All of the things one would typically go through to fix the problem. I even went so far as to remove every single Adobe application from my box (and all of their related support files) and reinstall everything. Exact same error. Then... intermittently... I could open or save files again... just to have it go back https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/244/855100 to the same problem as before. This was really bugging me. I then decided to try and run Photoshop that was sitting on another workstation via the network... exact same error. But even stranger than this is... that Photoshop that was running PERFECTLY previous to all of this... no longer works either!! It now shows up with the same error. Really, really bizarre. Anyone else have this issue?Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."by IsabelleVt on Aug 28, 2005 at 5:04:11 pmI started getting the same message yesterday when I tried to save some .psd files I had been working on. I replaced the Preferences file with a backup copy I keep on my desktop and all worked as it should until later in the day when I tried to "save as" a file and got the same message. I tried just "save" and that worked. I don't know what is happening (or why), but hope I don't have to reinstall Photoshop. Sounds like you're really knowledgeable, so if you find a reason (or fix) for the problem, please let me know. I definitely don't have knowledge a

Be sure to have enough free space on your hard photoshop could drive and also try to uninstall unwanted/unused programs. Restart your computer, start only Photoshop, create a new blank document, new layer and then try opening the blending options. If it works it means your computer can't handle the document you are working on. If it still doesn't work it is not because of low memory, be it RAM or disk space. You can try to change the performance photoshop could not settings inside photoshop buy don't know if it will do much good. 2. Re-install Photoshop. If it still gives you problems it is because of your slow computer. Try downgrading it to an older version. Adobe lets you download and use CS2 free from their site, so install that one. You shouldn't have a problem and will be able to finish in time for your deadline. After that, probably buy a new computer or keep using CS2. It doesn't have all the new features but you can do great work with it nevertheless.10.8k Views · Answer requested by Felicia KrismantaRelated QuestionsMore Answers BelowAdobe Photoshop: Which program should I be using to produce a gigapixel photomosaic?I couldn't complete the save because there isn't enough memory.
