Solutions Do either of the following solutions: Solution 1: Install the Adobe Photoshop CS MultiProcessor Support update. You can download the update from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html . Solution 2: Disable the MultiProcessor plug-in in the Photoshop Plug-ins folder. If you disable the MultiProcessor plug-in and don't install the Adobe Photoshop CS MultiProcessor Support update, functions that use the MultiProcessor plug-in, such as image rotation and color conversions, will perform more slowly. To disable the MultiProcessor plug-in: 1. If you use Windows, enable Windows to show hidden files, hidden folders, and all filename extensions: a. In Windows Explorer, choose Tools > Folder Options. b. Click the View tab in the Options dialog box. c. Select Show Hidden Files And Folders. d. Deselect Hide File Extensions For Known File Types. e. I attributed this to a very buggy PS-CS release which seems to run very slow, like it is debating over every command. However, after my initial install which crashed allot, I did a complete reformat and reinstall of everything, updating drivers, and cutting out the unnecessary applications. The error occurs whether I'm using the paint bucket tool, the magic wand tool, or Select > Color Range. This is reproducible, for me: 1) Create new image, 14px WIDE by 400px HIGH, filled with the background color, 72 px/in resolution. 2) Select paint bucket tool (tolerance level doesn't matter). 3) Click anywhere in the image to replace the background color with the foreground color. 4) Error occurs: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." 5) Click the OK button, but Photoshop remains locked up.
