(Previous lock up code = 0x13)Even though we have not seen any failures, we began testing the firmware update (3.02) and it completely bombed our 1st server; it's stuck at POST. We had the Linux guys perform the upgrade on there server and although it appears to have applied successfully, the firmware version never post error 1719 changed to 3.02. We have a case open with HP and are awaiting feedback, but in the meantime, i wanted to see if anyone else has pushed this FW update out to their ESXi5.5 Gen9 servers with the Smart Array controller.Any feedback is appreciated. 1680Views Tags: none (add) hp gen9 smart array contollerContent tagged with hp gen9 smart array contoller This content has been marked as final. Re: HP ProLiant Gen9 Advisory - SmartArray Firmware Update FinnurGudmundssonISB Oct 11, 2015 9:55 AM (in response to kevo12) We were hit by this flaw on the only BL460c G9 we run that is not ESXi host :-) - running Windows 2012. HP sent us a link with the fix an hour after we opened up the case. After applying the fix (we did it from Windows) the issue went away as quickly as it appeared.Hope you will get your boxes fixed. I recommend you open up a ticket if you are having problems applying it.Bgrds,Finnur Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: HP ProLiant Gen9 Advisory - SmartArra

P410 (512) in Gen8 Microserver Started By PetieG , Feb 12 2014 09:35 AM Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next Please log in to reply 20 replies to this topic #1 PetieG PetieG HSS Member Members 38 posts Posted 12 February 2014 - 09:37 AM Well, according to HP this controller is not supported on Gen8's... Damn! i've got a support contract and everything and the support guy is telling me the support case will fix itself if i install a compatible controller... Yeah, as if i can easily do this on a production server... Show me an HP Gen8 compatible controller for ~$500 that has 2 internal SAS ports... "Vijay" has pointed me to the P222 one internal, one external... not gonna work w/ 2 RAID arrays. Venting, frustrated... Currently getting daily 9PM reboots on WinServer 2012 Essentials R2 w/ the following: POST Error 1719 - a controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up PCI Bus Error (Slot 1, Bus 0, Device 1, Function 0) Unrecoverable System Error (NMI) has occurred. System Firmware will log add’l details in a separate IML entry if possible. Any clue anybody? (i'm on 62.26.0.64)I'm not sure if it's BSODing but this is "targeted to be resolved in a future version of the HPCISSS2.SYS driver." Then I would try the 2008R2 driver. Back to top #4 PetieG PetieG HSS Member Members 38 posts Posted 12 February 2014 - 10:56 AM I've seen the above in several other sites' tech notes as well: http://bit.ly/1m82EkS So i'm going to downgrade to the earlier version of Hpcisss2.sys tonight. Will post back after a few days... Firmware version is v6.40 on the P410. I'm still fuming over the fact that HP wouldn't support me! HP said, pop in the supported controller and we'll help you... Ha! P222 only has 1ext/1int channel, i need two internal channels... Ggrrr..!!! Back to top #5 schoondoggy schoondoggy HSS Genius Moderators 5,309 posts Posted 12 February 2014 - 11:12 AM I know its frustrating, but on the Microserver Gen 8, the P222 is the only controller listed as supported. How many drives are you running in the Gen 8? I have been using a P222 to run
