with over 75 printers tied to it. After attempting to add a new HP printer, the printers disappeared and the spooler server 2012 print spooler keeps stopping service gives me an error 1067 and will not start. I have a backup print server that did not have the new HP on it. I did a cleanspl on the main print server

which enabled me to start the spooler service. I then imported the print registry from the clean backup server over to the main server. Back to the error code again. Any ideas? Move them to a different location, then windows could not start the print spooler service on local computer error 1068 start spooler. Running Yaaa, stop here spooler continues to terminate, continue. If you have HP Standard TCP/IP Ports I suggest removing those first from the registry and start spooler. I assume you added a new print driver for the device. That's the next thing to remove if the you are not using HP ports. Since you use cleanspl I assume you know something regarding deleting the print components out of the registry. Then it's on to print processors and Language monitors but it you have HP ports you should switch to the Standard TCP/IP Port included with Windows. I've seen HP PORT update kill the spooler during startup since the newer version of the port monitor reads data written by the older version and happily corrupts the process memory. I assume the newer version was packaged with the setup.exe program that came with the driver. PS, avoid using setup programs for driver / printer installs on a server. Extract the file set and use Have Disk to install the driver using the printer inf file.Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Marked as answer by Miles ZhangModerator Monday, May 30, 2011 2:05 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 1:01 AM Reply | Quote Answerer Al
